RUN (DON'T WALK) TO BAG THESE HIGH STREET PICKS
On today’s agenda is one of my favourite topics – bag talk. I could go on endlessly about my must-have bags for the season (stay tuned for more AW24 bag content) but, right now, let’s focus on my top bag picks from one specific brand – Mango. Typically, I tend to discuss my most used and wishlist designer bags from luxury brands so it’s nice to switch things up and break down the affordable bags I’m lusting after this season. From work bag recommendations, plus suede and leopard print variations, to compact everyday designs and my mini favourites, let’s get into it!
Carry It All
Oversized and over prepared for anything is the way to go when it comes to practical totes at Mango. This season, there’s a real focus on tried-and-tested bag silhouettes – think classic hobo shapes, spacious shopper totes with open tops and boxy top handle bags. Some of the styles remind me of designs from my favourite luxury labels, like the new Chloé Bracelet Bag in the large size and fashion’s enduring cult favourite, The Row’s Margaux. There’s also suede options (a fully suede bag fro under £50?!) and fun leopard print pieces. These all make great work bags that you don’t have to be too precious about.
Chic & Compact
As much as I will alway champion the allure of big bags, compact accessories hold a very special place in my wardrobe. From simple flap designs to croissant and baguette shaped shoulder bags that are as practical as they are delicious sounding, I love having a selection of staple smaller styles made for carrying just the essentials. My top picks from Mango right now feature statement buckles and hardware, practical accordion-style openings, plus wristlet and crossbody strap options which make these simple pieces even more versatile.
Make It Mini
If you want to go even smaller with your accessories game this season, Mango has got us covered. I love the novelty of a mini bag so it’s fun to play around with textures and embellishments when opting to scale down your bag of choice – croc-effect and metallic finishes, beads and crystals are among my top picks from Mango’s mini selection. There are also styles that draw inspiration from designer bags of the moment like the Miu Miu Arcadie, Coperni Bucket Swipe and Alaïa Le Teckel.
