8 Lip Products For Any Budget

8-lip-products-for-any-budget-cover

A smackingly-good selection

Oils, balms, plumpers, tints, glosses, masks … and these are all just for our lips?!? If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by the amount of lip products on the beauty market these days, you’re not the only one. Whether you’re looking for bold pigmented options, enviable glossy finishes, or products that really protect and nourish, I’ve decoded all of the options that are out there and selected my top picks across a range of price points.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm

An undisputed cult-favourite product of beauty insiders, Summer Fridays’ Lip Butter Balm does a lot more than you’d think a simple lip balm ever could. It’s silky and soothing to give dry lips the ultimate moisture boost (essential for cold weather) and it’s vegan too. You can use it as a nourishing overnight mask but I especially love it as a top up throughout the day. The shades are just so cute – go for cherry if you want your lips to pop, pink sugar for a simple rosy look, or vanilla for a clear, glossy finish.

Rhode Peptide Lip Tint

When you need something for your Rhode phone case to hold, there really is only one option. But seriously though, it feels like Rhode has become everyone’s go-to brand for all things lip products this year. Right now, my favourite is the Peptide Lip Tint in the shade espresso to indulge my desire for the espresso makeup trend. But any of the shades are so buildable and glossy while not skimping on pigment. And the way it just melts onto your lips …

Prada Monochrome Soft Matte Lipstick

If you’re looking to spend a little bit more and want a classic nude lipstick – I can’t recommend my all-time favourite enough. Prada’s Monochrome Soft Matte Lipstick has a gorgeous soft matte finish and is super easy to build for a more pigmented look, plus it’s infused with bifidus extract and jojoba oil to really nourish your lips. My favourite shade is Nudo, but for a slightly richer colour, I recommend Caramel or Sedona.

Buxom Full-On™ Plumping Lip Products

For when I want to focus more on shape and shine than a strong, pigmented colour, Buxom’s Full-On™ Plumping Lip polish and cream glosses are my secret weapons. Super plumping and moisturising, they make my lips look full and shiny. Plus, the shades are all very natural so great for adding a little sparkle to my everyday makeup.

Wonderskin Lip Tint

Wonderskin’s Wonder Blading Lip Stain Masque is without a doubt one of my top beauty picks of the year. I apply it to the edges of my lips (it looks a little strange at first but trust the process) and then once I wipe it off it gives my lips the best natural-looking rosy colour. It subtly tweaks the shape to make them look fuller but in such a natural way, plus it always lasts the entire day!

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner

This Charlotte Tilbury find is not just your typical lip liner. It has that highly pigmented formula we all love with a creamy texture and soft matte finish, and it’s cool that it’s made with hyaluronic acid, jojoba seed oil and beeswax so it nourishes your lips, too. Plus, it’s waterproof.

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Korean skincare for my lips – yes please! This chilly season, I’m not settling for dry and cracked lips. I put on the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask before bed and always wake up to soft, smooth lips – it’s literally so easy. The Vanilla flavour has that perfect sweet scent that’s a nice addition to your cosy autumn/winter bedtime routine but if you truly want to get festive, I’d go for the limited-edition Candy Cane option.

Ultra Violette Sheen Screen

Just because it’s cold outside it doesn’t mean we can forget about SPF for our lips. Ultra Violette’s Sheen Screen has SPF 50 to protect, plus lanolin, shea and cacao seed butter to deeply nourish and hydrate. It has such a glossy finish, especially for a lip balm so is great if you want an all-in-one product for your lips. And the brown Choc Top shade is perfect as your necessary dose of espresso-inspired makeup this season.

xoxo, Tamara
