Primer

A good base starts, of course, with a good primer. It should give you a smooth and even complexion, plus I love ones that also hydrate my skin and give me a subtle glow without being too oily. My top picks include the Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer from Victoria Beckham Beauty (perfect if you want more of a cream that’s super light), plus Korean beauty favs that are the perfect mix of skincare and makeup. If you want an option that’s super hydrating and great for a little coverage even without foundation, Dior’s Forever Glow Veil Primer gets my vote.

Foundation

A huge part of creating a flawless base is all about the foundation you use. I love a weightless formula that glides on super easily. The Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation blurs my blemishes and brightens my skin for a natural glow. Or for something super decadent, the LA PRAIRIE Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation fuses concealer and foundation to give the best coverage and it features caviar extract to stimulate collagen production for anti-ageing. If you want a budget-friendly option, the L’Oréal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation is super moisturising and nicely pigmented.

Brushes and beauty blenders are key tools in my makeup bag. The trick is to understand which ones you’ll make best use of in your collection. For the essentials, it’s always best to invest in ones that are multitaskers. My top picks are Hourglass’ Ambient Soft Glow Foundation Brush and the Les Pinceaux De Chanel Retractable Foundation Brush N°103. If you want to keep things simple, invest in a full set, the Hourglass Vegan Brush collection is a great option. I also love using a beauty blender as part of my easy everyday makeup routine, Real Techniques does the best.

Concealer

Another true makeup bag multitasker is a great concealer. I always like to have a couple of good options on hand that work best for different things. For a thicker formula that is good for covering blemishes and spots, I love the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. But for something that brightens and reduces the look of dark circles, I’m a fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer and the Dior Forever Skin Correct Full-Coverage Concealer.

Setting Powder & Spray

Setting my makeup with a good powder or spray is a step that’s not to be skipped in my routine, whether it’s an everyday or a full glam look. I always look for something light that adds some hydration. In terms of sprays, Milk Makeup’s Hydro Grip Setting Spray and Urban Decay’s All Nighter option are my go-tos for locking makeup in place. Also Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Spray that’s super hydrating and smells AMAZING. And I always find that powders give me the best matte finish. My top recommendations are the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder and Chanel’s Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder.
