Milan Fashion Week Outfits: What I Wore This Season

Notes from Milan ...

Milan Fashion Week is always one of the busiest parts of fashion month. For a long time, I would have probably said it was my favourite, until I moved here and started living in Milan properly. Now, I have to admit, Paris Fashion Week might have taken the first place by just a tiny bit.

I know, controversial.

There is something about being in a hotel during fashion week that makes everything feel strangely easier. You wake up, the suitcases are open, the rail is there, hair and make-up happens in one place, and somehow the chaos feels contained. When you are at home, it is still chaos, but now you are also looking at the package you ordered seven days ago that is still sitting on the floor, wondering why there are three pairs of sunglasses on the table and how you are already late when you technically never left the house.

Maybe it is just my perception, but Milan always feels very real to me. It is my city, my routine, my apartment, suddenly mixed with fittings, shows, content, traffic, glam, friends, appointments and the kind of schedule that looks impossible until you somehow live through it.

This season was wonderful. And, very importantly, without rain. If I remember correctly, that has not always been the case in previous years, so I would like to personally thank the weather for behaving.

What made this Milan Fashion Week feel even more interesting was that the schedule had changed a little. Nothing dramatic, nothing that turned the whole month upside down, but enough to bring a new rhythm, a new energy and a slightly different pace. And I always enjoy that. Fashion week can become very familiar when you do it season after season, so even the smallest shift can make everything feel fresh again.

Day One

The first day of Milan Fashion Week started with Prada, which already tells you everything you need to know about the tone of the day.

You know how much I love this brand. Prada is one of those houses that always feels so specific, so recognisable and so completely its own. There is playfulness, there is boldness, there is chicness, and then there are these seemingly simple wardrobe pieces transformed through structure, fabric, colour and detail into something you immediately know could only be Prada.

My look had exactly that feeling. Layers, texture, structure, different materials, black socks, little pink shoes, and a silhouette that felt both polished and slightly unexpected. I had so much fun wearing it, which is always the best sign. Sometimes a look just puts you in the right mood for the whole day.

The show itself was, as always, incredibly special. Chic, sharp and full of pieces that stayed in my mind long after I left. The midi skirts completely stole the show for me. They came in so many colours, fabrics and shapes, and I loved how each one had its own character. I also really noticed the minimalist tops, perfectly cut and styled in a way that made them feel anything but basic.

And of course, I cannot not mention the exotic leather, the sequin details, the bags, the shoes, the colours. There was so much to take in, but what I always appreciate about Prada is that even when there are many ideas happening at once, the point of view is never lost. You always know where you are.

After the show and a very quick change, I went to the Lacca presentation, where I got to see the collection, spend some time with the team and enjoy a little calm moment in the middle of a very full day. Well, calm for about five minutes, because after that I had to rush home and had around twenty minutes to get ready again.

The day ended at the Vogue World event, which was truly spectacular. The organisation, the atmosphere, the number of people, supermodels, celebrities and artists all in one place – it really had that fashion week magic. One of those evenings where you look around and think, yes, this is why everyone is tired but still somehow smiling.

Day Two

Day two started very early with content shooting, because apparently fashion week does not believe in slow mornings. We were up, ready and shooting before my brain had fully accepted that the day had started.

After that, it was time to get ready for the Fendi show. I wore a very sleek, sexy, all-black look – a black suit, simple but strong, which felt perfect for the mood of the day. I always love when a look feels powerful without needing too much explanation.

The venue was beautiful, almost mystical, and it created such a strong atmosphere before the show even began. That is something I always pay attention to during fashion week: the clothes, of course, but also the space, the music, the way everyone enters the room, the feeling before the first look comes out. It all becomes part of the memory.

The rest of the afternoon was reserved for a few more activities with the team and a lot of content creation. And when I say a lot, I mean the kind of amount where your camera roll starts looking like it has lived several lives in one day. I really hope you will love everything we created, because there are so many little moments from Milan that I cannot wait to share properly.

Day Three

Day three started before 7am, because it was Max Mara day, and if you follow Milan Fashion Week, you will know that Max Mara always means an early morning. Their show is usually before 10am, so there was no slow coffee, no pretending I had time, just straight into hair, make-up and getting ready.

I have always found Max Mara so feminine, elegant and refined. It is one of those brands that understands clothes in a very quiet but powerful way. Beautiful tailoring, coats, shirts, suits, soft layers, pieces that do not need to shout to be noticed. This collection was full of warm brown tones, which I absolutely loved. There was something very rich and polished about it, but still so wearable.

My look was also in this beautiful taupe shade, which felt very much in the Max Mara world – soft, elegant and easy, but still structured enough for a fashion week morning. I really loved wearing it, especially because sometimes the best looks are the ones that do not try too hard.

After the show, the rest of the day was a mix of content creation, a team meeting and catching up on everything that somehow manages to pile up even when you are technically working every minute of the day. Fashion week time is not normal time. One hour can contain three outfits, 200 photos, two coffees, one car ride and at least five “where is my phone?” moments.

The evening was reserved for the MYT cocktail, which was such a lovely way to end the day. After a very early start, I was definitely ready for a slightly different kind of fashion week moment – still dressed up, still social, but with a little less running between locations.

Day Four

The next day started with a massage, which was honestly not a luxury at that point, but a necessity. After several days of shows, fittings, content, events and walking in shoes that are beautiful but not always interested in my wellbeing, my body was very grateful.

After a short visit to the Alanui presentation, it was time for the Gucci show. And it was spectacular.

This season, Gucci showed both menswear and womenswear, and I loved seeing the full world of the collection together. There were so many pieces I immediately imagined wearing, which is always my personal sign that a show has really worked. Sometimes you admire a collection from a distance, and sometimes you are mentally building a shopping list before the final look has even walked out. This was definitely the second one.

I loved the energy, the styling, the accessories, the attitude. It felt very Gucci, but also very desirable and easy to imagine in real life, which is always my favourite combination.

Then came a very classic fashion week moment: changing in the car. Not glamorous in practice, very glamorous in theory. But there was no time to go home, so we did what had to be done, and went straight to the Jimmy Choo presentation.

Jimmy Choo is always one of my favourite appointments during Milan Fashion Week. I adore the whole team, and it has become one of those presentations I never want to miss. As always, the shoes were beautiful, but I also loved the bags this season. There is always that perfect balance of glamour, femininity and fun, and after a long day, seeing a room full of beautiful shoes is honestly a very effective way to restore energy.

The last show of the day was Luisa Spagnoli, which felt like a lovely way to close such a full schedule. And then, it was time to go home, take the shoes off and pretend I had enough energy to organise myself for the next day.

Day Five

And just like that, it was my last day of Milan Fashion Week. A shorter one this time, because straight after the Ferragamo show I had to leave Milan and get on the road. Some of our friends were getting married, and it was one of those moments I really did not want to miss.

So no, I did not make it to Dolce & Gabbana this season, which is usually the final show for me in Milan. And no, I also did not exactly go home and rest after several very intense days of shows, fittings, content, events and early mornings. Instead, I went straight into a five-hour drive to the wedding destination.

But honestly, I am not complaining. If anything, I felt very happy that I managed to fit everything in. Sometimes fashion month is exactly that – trying to be in three lives at once and somehow making it work.

My final show of Milan Fashion Week was Ferragamo, and it was such a beautiful one to end on. I have always loved Ferragamo accessories, especially the bags, and this season there were so many pieces that felt elegant, modern and incredibly desirable.

The collection was full of beautiful dresses that really celebrated the shape of the body, as well as coats, sets, silk pieces, sheer details, sequins and leather skirts. It had that very polished Ferragamo sensuality – feminine, refined, but still strong. I love when clothes feel delicate and powerful at the same time, and there was a lot of that in this collection.

And that was it for me this season. After the show came the most express version of packing, a final look around the apartment to make sure I had not forgotten anything essential, and within an hour I was already on the road.

Milan Fashion Week, you were intense, beautiful, sunny, very busy and somehow over in five minutes. Until the next report…
