Everything you need to know before booking The Rooster Antiparos, one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in the Cyclades
The Rooster Antiparos had been on my hotel wishlist for a long time, so I was incredibly excited to finally spend a few days there with friends this summer. After seeing countless photos online, I honestly wondered whether it could live up to the expectations. The answer is very simple: yes.
From the moment we arrived, I completely understood why so many people consider The Rooster one of the best boutique hotels in Greece. Incredible views, beautifully designed houses, complete privacy, exceptional food and an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down from the second you arrive. It is everything I personally look for when choosing a summer escape in the Cyclades.
The Cyclades, are home to some of the most beautiful destinations in Greece. Every island has its own personality, yet they all share the same effortless charm: whitewashed villages, crystal-clear water, dramatic landscapes and a slower pace of life that makes summer feel exactly as it should. Antiparos is one of those places that manages to feel both sophisticated and wonderfully relaxed, and I genuinely cannot think of a better hotel to experience that feeling than The Rooster.
Why The Rooster Antiparos Feels So Different
One of the things I loved most about The Rooster is that it never feels like a traditional luxury hotel. When you arrive, the hotel makes it worth it, yes the two planes, car and a ferry later, you settle in your villa and realise its all ok.
Nothing here has been designed simply to impress. Instead, everything has been created to make you feel comfortable, relaxed and completely connected to your surroundings. The architecture blends beautifully into the landscape, using natural stone, wood, linen and earthy textures that reflect the colours of the island itself. It feels understated rather than extravagant, and I actually think that is what makes it so luxurious. There is no unnecessary excess. The luxury comes from the privacy, the space, the silence and the feeling that you can genuinely switch off for a few days.
The Houses
Unlike many hotels, The Rooster offers beautifully designed private houses rather than traditional hotel rooms. Each house feels incredibly spacious, with generous outdoor living areas and complete privacy. Many also have private pools overlooking the surrounding landscape, making it very easy to spend an entire afternoon doing absolutely nothing.
One of my favourite things was how spread out everything feels. You never have the impression that you are sharing the space with lots of other guests, even when the hotel is busy. Every house feels like its own little retreat, allowing you to fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that makes The Rooster Antiparos so special.

The Views Are Worth The Trip Alone
If I had to choose one thing I will remember most about my stay, it would probably be the scenery. Whether we were walking to breakfast, sitting by the pool, having dinner or simply enjoying our morning coffee, every view seemed more beautiful than the last. The landscape is wild, untouched and unmistakably Cycladic, with endless shades of blue meeting warm, earthy tones in every direction.
It is one of those rare places where you naturally begin to slow down. After the first day, I found myself putting my phone away more often, staying outside longer and appreciating the simple moments that are so easy to overlook in everyday life.
One Of My Favourite Parts: The Food
The food deserves a section of its own because it was genuinely one of the highlights of our stay.
The philosophy is centred around fresh, seasonal ingredients, many of which come directly from the hotel’s own organic farm. Fruit, vegetables and herbs are harvested throughout the year, allowing the menus to reflect both the seasons and the incredible produce Greece is known for.
Breakfast quickly became my favourite meal of the day. Sitting outside in the morning sunshine with fresh food, excellent coffee and those beautiful views is exactly how I imagine the perfect summer morning.
The hotel also offers private dining experiences, beach picnics and open-fire dinners, making every meal feel like a special occasion without ever feeling overly formal.
The Beach
One of my favourite things about staying at The Rooster Antiparos was having Livadia Beach just a short walk away.
Unlike many beaches across the Cyclades, Livadia feels wonderfully untouched. The beach in front of the hotel is under UNESCO protection. There are no rows of sunbeds or loud beach clubs dominating the coastline. Instead, you’ll find crystal-clear water, golden sand dunes and a peaceful setting that perfectly reflects the hotel’s philosophy of slowing down and enjoying nature.
Just imagine waking up at seven in the morning, walking for five minutes and finding yourself swimming in crystal-clear water, with a good chance of having the entire beach almost to yourself. That was exactly how Filippo chose to start his mornings. I have to admit, I took a slightly different approach and happily stayed in bed for a little longer, but hearing about those peaceful early swims almost made me regret it.
The Rooster makes the experience even more special by providing beach chairs and parasols for guests, while beach picnics and beautifully prepared hampers can also be arranged if you want to spend the entire day by the sea. It is simple, relaxed and effortlessly beautiful – exactly what I hoped for from Antiparos.
Is The Rooster Antiparos Worth Booking?

If you need a little bit of time to recentre, to enjoy and reconnect this is the place to go. Home to many rich and famous due to its facilities, such as the healing centre. The Rooster offers morning yoga, sound bath, lots of incredible sessions that will make you feel reborn once you come back.

We had actually been talking about staying at The Rooster for the past two or three summers, but somehow the timing never worked out. Now that we have finally experienced it, we both agreed on one thing before we even left: we will be coming back. I honestly cannot think of a better compliment to give a hotel than that.
