A little summer, a little autumn, and everything I’ll wear in between

August has been such a good month. A lot of travelling, beautiful events, a few trips that were a mix of work and pleasure, and, somewhere in between, a few very special days away with my family. It still feels very much like summer, but August always has this slightly transitional feeling for me. Once we pass the middle of the month, part of my brain is already in September – thinking about work, upcoming projects, Fashion Month and everything that comes with the start of a new season.

The same thing happens with the way I shop. By this point, I am no longer particularly interested in buying pieces that only make sense next to a swimming pool. I still want to enjoy every last warm day, of course, but I start looking for things that can come with me into September and October. A great shirt that works now with shorts and later under a jacket, trousers I can wear with sandals before switching to loafers, or a bag that has absolutely nothing to do with a particular season. It is less about autumn shopping and more about finding pieces that can evolve with my wardrobe over the next few months.

And apparently, I found quite a few of them this August. Some purchases are undeniably more summery, others already hint at the season ahead, but these are the things I have been most excited about, wearing the most, or simply cannot wait to style differently once the temperatures drop. Consider this my August shopping edit – the pieces that genuinely earned a place in my wardrobe.
