Fresh skin, glowing cheeks and the products I reach for all summer long
If you asked me whether I prefer blush or bronzer, it would be a difficult choice, but I would probably choose blush. There is something about a touch of colour on the cheeks that instantly makes me look fresher, more awake and a little more put together.
That said, I don’t think blush and bronzer are competing products. Together, they’re the combination I rely on most throughout summer. Even on days when I’m wearing very little makeup, perhaps just concealer, mascara and lip balm, these are the two products I almost always reach for. They add warmth, dimension and that effortless glow that makes skin look healthy and well-rested.
During the warmer months, I naturally gravitate towards cream and liquid formulas. I love products in stick form or lightweight textures that melt into the skin and leave behind a natural-looking finish. They feel fresher, more flattering and suit the relaxed approach I tend to take towards makeup in summer.
That said, I often combine cream and powder formulas. If I know I’ll be out all day or want my makeup to last well into the evening, layering powder products over cream is one of my favourite ways to add longevity without sacrificing a natural finish.
The Products That Make Me Look Like I've Had Twelve Hours Of Sleep
When it comes to blush, I always gravitate towards formulas that look effortless on the skin. I want colour and freshness, but never anything too heavy or obvious. The best blushes are the ones that make you look well-rested.
One of my favourite launches this year has been the new liquid blushes from NARS . My shade is Qué Calor, and I have been wearing it non-stop lately. I was lucky enough to try them shortly after they launched and have genuinely been impressed. The texture is lightweight, they blend beautifully and the pigmentation feels exactly right for everyday wear.
Rare Beauty remains one of my go-to brands for blush as well. Their formulas are easy to blend, long-lasting and perfect for creating that fresh summer glow.
Hourglass, however, will always have a special place in my makeup bag. Their face palettes are brilliant, particularly for travel, and I love having blush, bronzer and finishing powder all in one place.

The Products That Make Me Look Like I've Just Returned From Holiday
Bronzer is the product I reach for whenever I want that sun-kissed effect without actually spending hours in the sun. It instantly adds warmth to the complexion and helps tie everything together.
Lately, I have been using the NARS Laguna Bronzing Powder more than anything else. It is a classic for a reason: easy to blend, flattering and never too orange.
I also love the NARS Sculpting Stick, the Summer Fridays bronzer butter balm and the Saie Bronzer. They all blend seamlessly into the skin and create a natural, healthy-looking warmth without ever feeling heavy.
The result is exactly what I look for in summer makeup: fresh, effortless and just slightly sun-kissed.

If there are two products that define my summer makeup routine, it is undoubtedly blush and bronzer. Together, they do more for my complexion than almost anything else in my makeup bag.
These are the blushes and bronzers that have been in constant rotation for me this summer. Some are long-time favourites, others are newer discoveries, but all of them have earned a permanent place in my makeup bag.
