The Best Summer Bags To Wear This Season

Most wearable summer bags for holidays, beach days, city outfits and summer evenings ...

Summer bags always feel a little more emotional to me than winter ones. Maybe because they instantly remind me of somewhere. Capri at sunset. Long lunches that turn into dinner. A beach club where everything smells like SPF and sea salt. Running through an airport in linen trousers trying not to miss boarding. Summer bags somehow become part of the memories.

And honestly, I think they completely change an outfit.

You can wear the simplest white dress, oversized shirt or linen trousers, but the right bag suddenly makes everything feel intentional. Slightly more polished. Slightly more expensive. Slightly more “she knows exactly what she’s doing”.

These are the styles I genuinely keep coming back to every summer – the ones that work for holidays, cities, beach days and evenings out without feeling overcomplicated.

Straw Bags I’d Wear Far Beyond The Beach

This is probably my favourite category. Not the super casual raffia bags that only work on a sun lounger – I mean the beautiful structured summer bags that somehow look perfect with both a bikini and an evening dress. The kind of bag I would take to lunch in Capri, wear while walking through Puglia in flat sandals and a white cotton dress, or style for dinner with gold jewellery and sun-kissed skin.

I especially love when straw or raffia bags feel slightly elevated: structured silhouettes, leather details, darker handles and cleaner shapes. They instantly make summer outfits feel lighter and more relaxed without losing that polished feeling. And honestly, some of them work surprisingly well for the beach too – especially if you are not carrying too much and still want to look chic walking into a beach restaurant afterwards.

Oversized Beach Bags

I fully believe a good oversized beach bag can save an entire beach outfit. The second you throw a huge woven tote over your shoulder, everything suddenly feels more effortless – even if inside the bag you have SPF, tangled headphones, three bikinis and a book you still haven’t finished.

I love beach bags that feel relaxed but still intentional: soft oversized totes, raffia combinations and slightly slouchy shapes that fit absolutely everything. These bags work perfectly for beach clubs, boat days, travelling and long lunches by the sea. Personally, I think oversized summer bags always look best with simple styling – linen trousers, flat sandals, oversized shirts and messy beach hair.

Everyday Summer Bags I End Up Wearing The Most

These are the bags I probably use more than anything else during summer. Usually lighter colours, cream tones, tan leather, muted whites or soft greys – bags that work with almost every outfit without needing too much thought.

Because realistically, during summer I do not want to spend twenty minutes deciding whether my bag works with the outfit. I just want something easy that I can throw on with white jeans, linen sets, simple dresses or tailoring. Some days I want a slightly bigger tote for running around the city, while other days I only need a smaller shoulder bag for the essentials.

The Evening Bags I Always Pack First

No matter how many bags I bring on holiday, these are always the first ones that make it into the suitcase. The tiny evening bags that somehow make every dinner outfit feel finished – a Kelly Pochette, a Kelly Cut, a soft Bottega clutch or a small shoulder bag tucked under the arm.

I love evening bags in summer because they never need much styling. You can wear the simplest slip dress, flat sandals and slick hair, and the bag completely changes the mood of the outfit. Summer evenings also make smaller bags feel easier and more wearable somehow – lighter outfits, less to carry and dinners that somehow always end much later than planned.

At the end of the day, summer bags are probably the category I have the most fun with. Summer dressing already feels lighter, easier and a little more spontaneous, and the right bag somehow brings the entire outfit together without trying too hard.

Some summers I reach for oversized totes every single day. Other years it’s tiny evening bags, raffia styles or soft neutral shoulder bags I end up carrying constantly. But the one thing that never changes is how much a good summer bag can completely transform even the simplest outfit. A white dress, flat sandals, sun-kissed skin and the right bag really is the formula I keep coming back to every single year.
