Bridal List: Must-Have Pieces for Your Big Day

Everything I’d Tell A Bride To Pack (ie myself)

I think the last few months of my life have been split between voice notes, fittings, spreadsheets, phone calls with my mum and those “wait… did we confirm that?” moments that happen at least five times a day when you’re planning a wedding.

And honestly? As exciting as everything is, nobody really prepares you for how many tiny details suddenly become part of your everyday life. One minute you’re discussing flowers, the next you’re testing foundations under different lighting because you realised you’ll probably be photographed for 14 hours straight.

Maybe fashion weeks prepared me for this more than I thought they would. The constant organising, timelines, outfit changes, backups for the backups… I’ve spent years learning how to stay calm in beautiful chaos. So now that I’m in full wedding mode myself, I started paying attention to all the little things that actually make the biggest difference.

Not just the dress.

The pieces you wear while getting ready. The products you trust enough not to panic over. The shoes you can survive in for more than twenty minutes. The things nobody tells you to pack until it’s too late.

So I thought I’d put everything in one place, all the bridal pieces, beauty products and random little lifesavers I genuinely think are worth having around during this whole period. Considering I am a 2026 bride myself I would love it if you guys spot something I haven’t thought of before. Let’s help each other.

The Getting Ready Pieces That Actually Matter

I know the dress becomes the centre of everything, but weirdly enough, some of my favourite wedding-related things lately have been the pieces surrounding the actual day.

Beautiful silk pyjamas. A soft robe. Slippers you can walk around in for hours while people are running in and out of the room asking questions every five minutes. These are also the pieces that somehow end up in so many photos and videos throughout the morning(they are also the pieces I am the most excited to shop for).

I’ve also become irrationally attached to the idea of bringing a candle with me for the getting ready room. Maybe this sounds dramatic, but scent memories are very real to me. I know that years from now, smelling that exact candle again would instantly bring me back to those few quiet moments before everything starts. The anticipation, the chaos, the excitement, everyone getting ready together. It’s such a small thing, but I genuinely think details like that stay with you forever.

I’ll link some of my favourite bridal getting ready pieces below, including silk sets, robes, slippers and a few candles I’ve been loving recently.

Jewellery

I’ve realised I’m personally drawn to bridal jewellery that doesn’t feel too “bridal”.

Pieces you can wear years later and still love just as much.

Pearls and diamonds  always feel beautiful for weddings, especially when styled in a slightly cleaner, more modern way. I also love delicate tennis necklaces, diamond studs and simple tennis bracelets that add just enough without competing with the dress itself.

I think the goal is to still feel like yourself – just a slightly more polished version. Don’t forget to bring a cloth or something you can clean your jewellery with, specially after a whole morning of makeup and moisturising.

Bridal Shoes & Bags Worth Thinking About

This might be controversial, but I genuinely think comfort matters more than people admit on wedding days. Of course we all want beautiful shoes. But if you can barely walk in them after the ceremony, the excitement disappears very quickly.

Jimmy Choo does some incredible bridal styles, especially if you love more classic satin heels or crystal details. René Caovilla has some of the most beautiful embellished sandals ever, and Magda Butrym makes gorgeous floral heels that feel very romantic without looking overly traditional.

But my biggest advice? Don’t choose shoes only for the photo.

Choose shoes you’ll actually survive the day in. You’ll be standing, walking, greeting people, dancing, moving constantly… and at some point, comfort becomes luxury.

As for bags, I love elegant white mini bags or sparkly clutches for bridal events and dinners leading up to the wedding itself. Jimmy Choo always has beautiful options, and an Hermès Kelly Cut in white genuinely feels like the ultimate bridal bag to me. I will make sure to put an AirTag in mine because I don’t plan on actually carrying it, it will probably end in one of my bridesmaids hands.

Beauty Products I Would Never Experiment With Last Minute

If you’re doing your own makeup on your wedding day, please do not experiment with new products that morning.

I mean this very seriously.

That is not the moment to suddenly test a foundation TikTok convinced you to buy three days earlier. You never know how something will react on your skin under stress, heat, flash photography or after ten hours of wear. Whether it’s the shade, the formula or simply how it sits on your skin throughout the day – weddings are not the time for beauty risks. I’m not cutting my fringe, doing fresh Botox or trying a new facial in weeks leading to the big day either.

I think the safest approach is sticking to products you already know look good on you. Long-lasting foundation. Waterproof mascara. A proper setting spray.
A lip tint that fades naturally instead of leaving you reapplying lip liner every twenty minutes.

I’d also never skip body oil or a subtle shimmer product, especially for shoulders, collarbones and legs if they’re visible. It makes such a difference in photos without looking overdone (also stick to cleaner formula so you don’t stain your dress). Perfume deserves its own moment here because I genuinely think scent becomes part of the memory of the entire day. Years later, one spray can bring everything back instantly.

I’ll leave all my trusted bridal beauty favourites below  the products I personally would feel calm relying on during a day like this.

The Little Things Nobody Talks About (But You’ll Be So Happy You Packed)

Nobody really warns you that wedding mornings can become slightly chaotic very quickly.

At some point, somebody is steaming something, somebody forgot something, somebody needs scissors, somebody can’t find a charger… and suddenly the room looks like a fashion week backstage situation.

So here’s my unofficial emergency list of things I genuinely think are worth having nearby:

At the end of the day, I genuinely think being prepared for the small things removes so much unnecessary stress from a day that already comes with enough emotions, excitement and chaos on its own. That’s exactly why I wanted to put this little list together in the first place.

But I also know myself well enough to know that something probably won’t go perfectly. Maybe a timeline shifts, maybe somebody is late, maybe something tiny goes wrong. And honestly? That is completely normal.

I think I’ll be reminding myself of this constantly on the day too.

Because years from now, nobody will remember the small imperfections. You’ll remember how you felt. The people around you. The laughter, the music, the adrenaline, the hugs, the moment you finally get a second alone with your partner in the middle of all the chaos and realise: this is actually happening.

And I really do think that’s the part that matters most.
