St. Moritz Restaurants: Where to Eat in St. Moritz

Where to Eat, Dine & Take a Break

St. Moritz has long been my favourite winter destination – and if you’ve been following for a while, you probably already know that. During the winter season, Filippo and I find ourselves in St. Moritz more than once, sometimes for work, sometimes for a relaxed weekend away, and often for a mix of both.

No matter the reason, one thing never changes. Alongside beautiful skiing, breathtaking scenery and excellent shopping, St. Moritz is a place where you eat exceptionally well. From long lunches after skiing to cosy dinners and familiar favourites we return to year after year, these are the St. Moritz spots we genuinely love and recommend.

1. Langosteria

Italian dining done beautifully. Langosteria is one of those places where everything feels consistent, refined and reliably good. My go-to orders are the pacheri with branzino or the gnocchi with red shrimp – both rich, comforting and perfect after a long day on the mountain.

Located on Corviglia, Langosteria is also known for its beautiful terrace, which makes it an ideal stop for a long lunch or an aperitivo with mountain views.

2. Chesa Veglia

A St. Moritz classic. They do excellent meat – rib eye steak, tagliata, and even very good pizza. My personal favourite is the mixed salad with truffle oil. Simple, familiar, and always exactly what I want.

What makes Chesa Veglia special is that it houses several dining spaces under one historic roof, from cosy Swiss stuben to a more casual pizzeria, so it never feels repetitive.

3. Paradiso Mountain Club

Everything works here. Whether it’s a burger and fries for a comfort meal or fondue to properly warm up after skiing, Paradiso never disappoints. A must when you want something relaxed but satisfying.

It’s also one of the liveliest mountain spots in St. Moritz, with a great wine and Champagne selection and a terrace that stays buzzing throughout the day.

4. Beefbar

We love Beefbar and often eat here. The menu is the same as in their other locations – and for good reason. The food is exquisite, from perfectly cooked Wagyu to beautifully prepared French cuts.

Beyond classic steaks, Beefbar is known for its refined take on global street-food flavours, which adds a modern edge to the menu.

5. Suvretta Stube

Traditional Swiss food at its best. Expect comforting dishes, excellent meat and fish, and that cosy alpine feeling that works especially well in the evening.

The menu focuses on Swiss classics and comfort dishes, served in an elegant yet relaxed setting that feels especially right in winter.

6. La Coupole – Matsuhisa (Nobu)

One evening, when we feel like stepping out of the cosy mountain routine and into something a bit more polished, we head to La Coupole – Matsuhisa: the local expression of the iconic Nobu world. The food is consistently very good, exactly what you expect from Nobu, while the space itself feels elegant and special. Perfect for a night when you want dinner to be an occasion in itself, not just a meal.

Tea & Sweet Stops

7. Badrutt’s Palace Hotel – Tea Time

Tea time is served inside the hotel and it’s one of those small rituals I truly enjoy. I always order rooibos tea with a cinnamon stick – simple, warming and perfect after a walk through town.

The tea is served in the hotel’s Grand Hall, often with live piano music, which makes it feel like a true St. Moritz ritual rather than just a break.

8. Hanselmann

A place we always stop by while walking or shopping. Hanselmann is known for its chocolates and pralines, and it’s impossible to leave empty-handed. Elegant, historic, and very much part of the St. Moritz experience.

A St. Moritz institution since the late 19th century, it’s especially loved for its pralines and the traditional Engadine nut cake.

Over the years, these places have become part of our St. Moritz routine. Not about chasing new spots, but returning to what feels good – reliable food, familiar tables and moments that naturally shape our time on the mountain.
