6 Trends I am Excited for in 2026

What’s Next in Style

Every new year brings a quiet sense of anticipation, but 2026 feels particularly inspiring. Fashion is shifting again – softer in some moments, bolder in others – and what excites me most is how personal it all feels. These trends aren’t about dressing to impress, but about dressing with intention, texture and emotion.

Here are six trends I’m genuinely excited to explore in 2026 – not just on the runway, but in real life.

1. Grey, Reimagined

Grey is stepping out of the background and into the spotlight. No longer just a neutral supporting act, it’s becoming a statement in its own right. From soft dove tones to deeper charcoal shades, grey feels calm, sophisticated and quietly powerful.

What I love most is its versatility – layered greys feel modern and effortless, while a head-to-toe grey look can be just as striking as black, if not more. It’s minimalism with depth, and I’m very here for it.

2. The Trench as the Outfit

The trench coat has always been a classic, but 2026 is giving it a new role: the outfit itself. Deconstructed silhouettes, exaggerated proportions and unexpected details transform the trench from an outer layer into the main event.

I love this idea of building an entire look around one strong piece. There’s something incredibly confident about throwing on a statement trench, cinching it, styling it with boots or heels, and calling it a day. Effortless, yet impactful.

3. Low-Waist Everything

Yes, low waist is officially back – but this time, it feels more considered and grown-up. We’re seeing low-rise trousers, skirts and even tailoring that sit lower on the hips without feeling overly nostalgic or uncomfortable.

The key here is balance. Paired with structured tops, oversized knits or sharp blazers, low-waist pieces feel modern and wearable. It’s less about chasing trends and more about reinterpreting them in a way that feels right for you.

4. Decadent Desert

This might be one of my favourite trends of the year. Think warm sand tones, sun-faded browns, terracotta, dusty golds and soft, flowing fabrics that move with the body.

There’s something very sensual and grounded about this aesthetic – it feels luxurious without being loud. Linen, suede, silk and sheer layers come together to create looks that feel sun-soaked, relaxed and deeply elegant. It’s escapism, but make it fashion.

5. Textured and Printed Bags

In 2026, bags are no longer just accessories – they’re conversation starters. Texture is everything: woven leather, embossed finishes, mixed materials and bold prints that add character to even the simplest outfit.

I love how a strong bag can completely transform a look. Whether it’s a printed tote with a monochrome outfit or a richly textured mini bag for the evening, this trend is all about personality and playfulness.

6. Brooches, Back with Purpose

Brooches are making a quiet but powerful comeback – and not in the way you’d expect. Forget the traditional placement; in 2026, brooches are styled on blazers, coats, scarves, knitwear and even bags.

What I love about this trend is how personal it feels. A brooch can tell a story, carry sentiment, or simply add a touch of individuality. It’s a small detail, but one that speaks volumes – and I think that’s exactly what modern fashion is about.

Fashion in 2026 feels expressive yet intentional, bold yet wearable. These trends aren’t about following rules, but about finding what resonates with you and making it your own. And that, to me, is the most exciting part of all.
