What to Visit in Doha

Where I Stay, Sip, Shop and Explore in One of My Favourite Cities

I’ve visited Doha many times over the years, definitely more than ten, and each trip still feels special in its own way. There’s something about the city that stays with me: the kindness of the people, the high standard of hospitality, the calm but lively atmosphere, and the general sense that everything, from services to beauty treatments, is done with real care. Doha has become one of those places where I feel instantly comfortable.

Over time, I’ve put together a list of spots I always return to, places that make each trip feel complete. Consider this a curated guide to the Doha I’ve grown to really appreciate.

The Ned – My favourite hotel in Doha

The Ned is my favourite hotel in the city, with an atmosphere that’s both elegant and relaxed in that signature Ned style. The food is always a highlight, and having several great restaurants, including Cecconi’s, all under one roof is incredibly convenient.

The pool area is beautiful, ideal for slow mornings or sunset hours. They also serve great breakfast and lunch here, so if you just want to stop by to have a quick coffee, you’ll still find plenty of delicious options to enjoy.

M7 — Doha’s Creative Heart

M7 is the city’s hub for design, fashion, and creative industries. It’s a modern, inspiring museum that showcases Doha’s contemporary cultural side. You’ll find exhibitions, concept spaces, and a very thoughtful, curated atmosphere.

Museum of Islamic Art — A Masterpiece on the Water

The Museum of Islamic Art is one of Doha’s key landmarks. The architecture is striking, and inside, the collection spans centuries of craftsmanship and history from across the Islamic world. It’s a peaceful place to explore, especially if you appreciate design and culture.

National Museum of Qatar - A Journey Through Identity

I’ve visited the National Museum of Qatar many times, the FTA Awards are annually held here and every visit reminds me of how extraordinary this place truly is. Designed by Jean Nouvel and inspired by the desert rose, the architecture alone feels like a sculptural tribute to Qatar’s identity. Inside, the immersive galleries take you through the country’s evolution, from its prehistoric roots and pearling heritage to modern-day innovation, with films, objects, and storytelling that make the journey feel alive. It’s a space where culture, design, and emotion beautifully converge, and it’s one I find myself returning to again and again.

Zawya Coffee – A Simple Daily Ritual

One of my favourite small rituals in Doha is stopping by Zawya Coffee. The space is calm, the coffee is consistently good, and I always order the avocado and apple bread. It’s always a quiet moment I look forward to during busy trips.

Place Vendôme Mall & Arabica Coffee – The Shopping Essential

Place Vendôme Mall is a beautifully designed retail destination where you can find almost any brand, from luxury to high street and beauty to niche labels. It’s a great place to spend a few hours browsing or discovering new pieces.

And whenever I’m there, I stop for a coffee at Arabica inside the mall, it’s a reliable favourite with great coffee and the perfect place to pause between stores.
