Winter Getaway Guide ...
I love winter travel – the crisp air, cosy layers, festive lights, and that feeling of discovering a city or mountain village wrapped in snow. Every year I end up returning to a few places that simply never lose their magic. Here are my absolute favourite winter destinations and why I adore each one.
Vienna – The Ultimate Winter City Break
Vienna in winter feels like a real-life fairy tale: elegant streets, golden lights, beautiful cafés, Christmas markets, and that timeless Viennese charm. I love wandering from museum to museum, stopping for a hot chocolate, and ending the evening with a classical concert or a cosy dinner. It’s sophisticated, calm, festive – everything I want from a winter city escape.

St. Moritz - Chic, Snowy, Perfect
St. Moritz is one of my happy places in winter. The views are spectacular, the atmosphere is luxurious yet relaxed, and the mix of skiing, spa days, and lakeside walks makes it the perfect winter retreat. I always stop by my favourite boutiques, enjoy long lunches on the slopes, and soak up that magical Alpine sunshine. It’s the definition of winter elegance.

Courchevel - French Alps Glamour
If I want proper skiing mixed with a bit of glamour, Courchevel is unbeatable. The slopes are fantastic, the food is always amazing, and the whole village has that chic French Alpine energy. It’s one of those places where you can ski all day and still dress up for a beautiful dinner in the evening – the perfect balance.

Chamonix – Cosy, Authentic & Outdoorsy
Chamonix feels a bit more authentic, a bit more adventurous – and I adore it for that. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and beautiful snowy forests, it’s perfect for people who love nature as much as they love the winter atmosphere. Whether it’s skiing, exploring little cafés, or just enjoying the views of Mont Blanc, Chamonix has a charm that’s impossible to forget.

Finland – Winter Wonderland Energy
Finland is pure winter magic. Silent forests, soft snow, glass igloos, saunas, the Northern Lights… it feels like stepping into another world. One place I always recommend is Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi – the official home of Santa Claus. It’s charming, festive, and honestly feels like a childhood dream brought to life. From crossing the Arctic Circle to visiting Santa’s post office, it adds a sweet, whimsical touch to an otherwise calm and breathtakingly beautiful destination. It’s the kind of winter experience you never forget.

These destinations all bring something different – from culture and elegance to adventure and untouched nature. They’re the places I return to every winter, each offering a unique kind of magic that reminds me why I love this season so much.
