Five timeless styles I always come back to ...
I absolutely love autumn footwear – it’s the season when you can really play with materials, textures and different leathers. From loafers and boots to ankle boots, sneakers and of course, classic heels – autumn feels like the perfect time to experiment with it all.
Ankle Boots
Their season really starts in early autumn, and I love wearing them especially with jeans and an oversized blazer. I tend to reach for heeled ankle boots more often, but I do keep a couple of flat pairs as well. Biker boots always feel like a cool staple to have in the wardrobe, and I also have a soft spot for suede leather versions or even a bold animal print pair.

Knee-High Boots
Flat knee-highs are such an easy option – they go perfectly with dresses of any length, for work, or even for long walks. But my true favourites are heeled knee boots. They instantly make any outfit feel more elegant and feminine. When boots are striking, they really shape your silhouette and make the rest of the look feel effortless, whether it’s a dress, skinny jeans, wool shorts, or something else. I also love playing with heel shapes – thicker heels feel more daytime, while slimmer stilettos are my go-to for evening when I want a more sensual, polished look.

Loafers
Oh yes… probably my favourite type of autumn shoes – although I wear them all year round. The only difference is in the materials and the tones: autumn loafers in suede leather, in all those earthy shades – brown, olive, black, and of course burgundy, which is very on trend. They work with absolutely everything: jeans, suits, wide-leg trousers, even relaxed midi dresses. You already know The Row is probably my favourite brand for loafers, but I’ll share a few other gems I’ve found too – and honestly, I can’t decide which I love more.

Heels
There’s not much to say here – just a timeless classic. I actually wear them the most in autumn. Summer is for strappy sandals, but autumn is the perfect season for a good pump. When the weather allows, or if I’m heading to an indoor event, I also love slingbacks. Saint Laurent is probably one of my favourite brands for this type of shoe.

Sneakers
I don’t wear sneakers that often, but I definitely reach for them the most in spring and autumn. Why? I don’t have a specific reason, other than the fact that they’re the easiest to style with almost anything. I usually go for suede leather sneakers – they work so well with trousers and jeans, paired with a tee or a cosy knit, under a trench or a leather jacket. Those are the days when comfort really comes first for me.

At the end of the day, these five categories are more than enough to cover every occasion autumn throws at you. Each one has its moment: the femininity of heels, the comfort of sneakers, the timeless appeal of loafers, or the power of boots. And honestly, finding the right pair can make getting dressed in autumn so much more fun.
