Notes from New York ...

Fashion Month always begins with New York Fashion Week, and no matter how many seasons I’ve attended, the excitement feels just as strong. NYFW has a special place in my story – it was the very first Fashion Week I ever experienced, and my first trip to New York twelve years ago.

I still remember arriving with an oversized suitcase, not knowing what to expect but filled with dreams and nerves. That week became a turning point, and every season since, I’m reminded of how far the journey has taken me.

Today, I come back with a team, a schedule, and years of experience – yet the thrill of NYFW remains unchanged. For me, it’s never just about the shows. It’s about the energy of the city, the creativity, and that same spark I felt the very first time.

So let me take you through my days in New York, the schedule, and of course, the outfits I wore.

Day One

After the longest flight I’ve ever taken – straight from Hong Kong to New York, 16 hours in the air – I finally touched down. Jet lagged but buzzing with adrenaline, I checked into the hotel, unpacked, and met up with my team. The first thing on the schedule? Getting ready for the Grace Ling show.

Grace Ling is one of those designers who pushes the boundaries of material and form – 3D printed metallic tops, burned-edge gossamer skirts, and sharp boots that look like they’ve stepped straight out of another world. The collection felt futuristic yet rooted in history, and I loved how she mixed these references with such confidence. It was refreshing, inspiring, and exactly the kind of show that makes you remember why NYFW is so unique.

Day Two

Day two was one of the busiest – and started without breakfast (which, let’s be honest, happens more often than I’d like to admit during Fashion Week). After a morning of meetings and quick catch-ups, I headed straight to the shows.

First stop: Calvin Klein. The collection was a beautiful balance of timeless classics reimagined for the modern woman. Strong silhouettes, effortless tailoring, and that New York edge. For the show, I wore a white suit – perfectly tailored, comfortable, and exactly my kind of outfit.

Next up was FFORME, a brand I truly admire. Their approach is thoughtful, minimal, and elegant in a way that feels effortless. My look reflected that vibe: ochre trousers paired with a soft knit and layered with a crisp white shirt. Comfortable, chic, and just how I like it. The show itself was a joy – cohesive, inspiring, and wearable in the best possible way.

After a quick break back at the hotel, the evening continued with two events. Busy, yes – but that’s Fashion Week. Full days, fast turns, and so many moments to take in. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Day Three

Day three started on a slower note – some content shooting in the morning, a fitting for an upcoming show, and a little walk to soak up the city before the real schedule kicked in. Of course, there was more content to film (because Fashion Week is never just about the shows), and then it was time to get ready for Altuzarra.

For the show, I wore a beautiful long-sleeve brown dress paired with a suede bag. It was one of those looks that instantly made me feel confident and comfortable. The collection itself was a highlight – trench coats with low-slung belts, oversized jackets, and a play on proportions that felt both wearable and exciting. Altuzarra keeps raising the bar each season, and this was easily one of my favourite shows of theirs so far.

The evening was all about one of my absolute favourite US brands: Khaite. I don’t even know how many pieces I own from them at this point, but their shows always feel special to me. This one, though, was on another level – without a doubt, my favourite Khaite show ever. Structured silhouettes, hourglass shapes, and an energy that felt powerful yet effortless.

My outfit reflected that vibe perfectly – tailored jeans with the most flattering cut, a simple black top elevated with a corset and gloves. Minimal, sharp, and just the right amount of drama. Exactly why I love Khaite.

Day Four

I started the morning slowly – a bit of morning skincare and a proper catch-up with the team, then we went for brunch and some downtime because the previous days had been non-stop. My only show left was COS. I love that brand and I regularly feature a COS edit on the blog: simple cuts, quality fabrics and genuinely chic pieces. I really liked my look for the show – clean, comfortable and exactly the kind of thing I reach for.

NYFW kicked off Fashion Month perfectly. I’m so pleased with what my team and I achieved in New York and I’m already excited for London – see you in the next post with reports from the streets of London.
