New York Brunch Spots

Brunch breaks in the city that never slows down ...

New York has always been a city where I mostly come for work – usually twice a year, for a few intense days during Fashion Week. The schedule is always packed, the days long and fast-paced. But over the years, I’ve learnt how important it is to carve out little moments of balance, whether it’s just for myself or with my team. Brunch has become that perfect pause – a chance to catch up, enjoy a good meal, and recharge before diving back into the chaos. Having visited New York many times, I’ve gathered a list of places I truly love for brunch. Here are my go-to spots:

1. Soho Diner

Address: 320 W Broadway, New York, NY 10013
Price range: $$
Best for: classic American brunch and pancakes
What to order: buttermilk pancakes, Soho bacon egg & cheese
Vibe:retro with a cool downtown feel Good to know: great all day and more relaxed than the usual spots

Soho Diner is a modern twist on the retro diner vibe, but perfect for brunch. It feels both nostalgic and fresh, with a relaxed yet lively atmosphere and interiors that instantly put you in a good mood. The menu leans towards comfort food with a twist – think fluffy pancakes, perfectly done eggs, and a great selection of juices and coffees. The pancakes are so soft and delicious, and the avocado toast with eggs is absolutely amazing. It’s my go-to when I want something casual but still chic, a little pause in a busy New York morning.

Sadelle’s is a brunch institution. Famous for its bagels and smoked salmon towers, it’s one of those places that captures the essence of a New York morning. The atmosphere is bustling, with a mix of locals and visitors, and it always feels special to sit down here. I love that it’s both indulgent and classic at the same time.

Elegant and refined, Sant Ambroeus brings a touch of Milanese charm to New York. It’s my pick when I’m in the mood for something a little more polished. The menu offers light Italian-inspired dishes alongside great coffee and pastries. It’s the kind of spot where you can linger over a cappuccino and almost forget how busy the city outside is.
