From Beachfront Dining to Hidden Gems
Ibiza might not be the first place you’d associate with me these days. I’m not really into the party scene anymore – late nights and loud music just aren’t my thing. But there’s so much more to this island than that, and every time I visit, I’m reminded of just how magical it truly is.
A few weeks ago, we spent some time there visiting friends who live on the island, and it was honestly one of the most enjoyable trips I’ve had in a while. These kinds of moments—slow mornings, long lunches, catching up with people I love – feel extra special when your schedule is normally so packed and fast-paced.
Since I often get asked about restaurant recommendations whenever I travel, I thought I’d share some of my absolute favourites on the island. Whether you’re visiting Ibiza for the first time or looking to explore beyond the beach clubs, these are the spots I would personally go back to again and again.
1. Jondal Beach Club
This might be my favourite place on the island. I’ve been here for a few events in the past, but it’s just as lovely for a relaxed afternoon with friends. The food is incredible, the crowd is fun but laid-back, and the whole place has this effortless charm that makes you want to stay for hours. Must order the jamón Ibérico and the pineapple dessert – trust me on this one. Plus, it’s located right by a stunning beach, which never hurts.

2. Casa Maca
A bit more tucked away in the centre of the island, Cala Maca is perfect for when you want something a little quieter. The food here really surprised me – in the best way – and it’s the kind of place where time slows down. It’s warm, welcoming, and ideal for catching up over a long lunch. They follow a farm-to-table concept, and are especially known for their quality meat – but I personally love their grilled vegetables just as much. For the best experience, book your table before sunset.

3. El Chiringuito
If you love fresh seafood, you’ll love El Chiringuito. It’s such a lovely lunch spot with beautiful views and even better fish. It’s easy, breezy, and exactly what you’d want from an island meal.

4. Es Xarcu
If you’re in the mood for something a little more low-key and traditional, Es Xarcu is an incredible find. It’s tucked away right by the water, with that classic Ibizan charm – no frills, just incredibly fresh seafood and the kind of setting that instantly makes you feel grounded. It’s one of those places that reminds you how powerful simplicity can be when everything is done just right. Order the catch of the day, enjoy the view, and let time slow down.

5. Cala Bassa Beach
We also visited Cala Bassa, which completely charmed me. I didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be one of those places that instantly makes you feel relaxed and happy. The beach is lovely, the water is calm, and it’s a beautiful spot to spend a lazy afternoon.

6. Formentera - Juan y Andrea
If you have an entire day to spare, I’d definitely recommend renting a boat and heading to Formentera. The beaches are absolutely breathtaking – crystal-clear turquoise water, white sand, and a truly serene vibe. While you’re there, make a reservation at Juan y Andrea. It’s an iconic lunch spot and the perfect reward after a sunny day by the sea.
