What to Wear in Between Seasons ...
As we step into the second half of August, I can’t help but feel we’re slowly saying goodbye to summer… or is it just me? I have a feeling I’m not the only one.
For me, this actually has a lot to do with the fact that from mid-August, all the brands start rolling out their autumn collections. I find myself checking daily what’s new and what’s been prepared for the season ahead, and I start adding a few key autumn pieces to my wardrobe. It’s the perfect way to ease into that transitional period and the beginning of autumn.
We still have a few weeks of summer left, and I intend to make the most of them! But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get ready for cooler evenings, temperatures dipping below 25°C, and that subtle autumn vibe slowly creeping in.

Why I Love the Transitional Period?
I actually think the summer-to-autumn transition is one of the most fun times for fashion and styling. It’s the perfect opportunity to mix your favourite summer pieces with a few autumn essentials for those cooler evenings. It’s really simple: a summer dress can easily be worn with ballet flats instead of sandals, topped with a lightweight linen blazer. Long-sleeve dresses are also ideal now – just right for afternoon and evening outings.
Open-toe sandals slowly give way to closed-toe heels, loafers, or ballet flats, while layering becomes key: a light cardigan, blazer, vest, or full-length trousers make all the difference. When it comes to colours, I love experimenting – keeping some bright summer shades while gradually introducing autumnal tones like brown, olive green, black accents, and leather details.
I’ve put together a few outfit suggestions for this transitional period, along with a selection of pieces that will carry you stylishly through the whole autumn.
