Romantic Styles to Slip Into This Season
There’s something about the silk and lace combo that just feels so right this season. I’ve always had a soft spot for silk – the way it moves, the way it feels on the skin, the effortless elegance it brings to even the simplest silhouette. But this summer, I’ve completely fallen for the way lace is being used to frame and contrast those silk pieces – it’s delicate, romantic, and adds just the right amount of structure.
From slinky slip dresses to camisoles and midi skirts, I’ve added a few pieces to my wardrobe that perfectly balance that softness of silk with the slightly bolder edge of lace. Often in a contrasting colour, the lace gives depth and definition to otherwise fluid pieces – a detail I’ve come to really appreciate, especially when I want to dress up without trying too hard.

I’m especially drawn to the dresses – there’s something undeniably charming about those slip-inspired cuts. With the right fit, quality fabric, and a touch of styling, they become so much more than just sleepwear-inspired looks. One of my recent favourites is a set I got from DÔEN – a delicate pastel peach shade combined with cream lace. It’s light, elegant, and I wore it to an event in Ibiza where it almost looked like a dress from afar – the top blends perfectly into the flowy midi skirt.
I’ve selected for you both high-end and high-street pieces that follow this trend, and of course, as always, I’m here to help with a little styling advice. It’s a trend that speaks to both comfort and femininity, and I love how easy it is to transition these pieces from day to evening. Just add a blazer, strappy heels or even wear it with flats and an oversized shirt – you can’t go wrong.
