Two Summer Moods, One Love for Beautiful Tops
When it comes to summer dressing, there’s one item I truly can’t get enough of – a beautiful top. Whether I’m getting dressed for a casual day out or a slightly dressier evening plan, I always reach for a top that feels easy yet elevated. It’s the kind of piece that can transform your whole outfit and give it that polished touch, even when you don’t feel like trying too hard.
This season, I’ve found myself constantly rotating between two categories: effortless daytime tops and statement pieces for the evening.
Here’s how I’m styling both – and the brands I’m loving right now.
Casual Summer Tops
For my everyday summer looks, I’m always drawn to natural, breathable fabrics like cotton and linen. They just feel right on the skin, especially when it’s hot outside. I love wearing polo-style tops – they add a subtle sense of elegance while still being casual and made from soft, airy materials. They work perfectly with linen trousers, denim or a relaxed pair of shorts, depending on my mood.
Another favourite? Linen tops with a twist. I’m not talking about the classic beachy versions, but pieces with a unique cut or structure – something that lifts the whole look without making it feel too done. When it comes to brands, I’ve been reaching for Miu Miu, Saint Laurent, Faithfull, and Khaite – they all have incredible summer pieces that are wearable but still stylish. And for more accessible options, Mango, COS and H&M have some surprisingly good finds this season.

Evening & Statement Tops
When it comes to evenings – or just slightly more elevated moments – I love to switch things up. Magda Butrym tops are a staple in my wardrobe. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re incredibly comfortable. The stretchy, sculpted shapes make them both flattering and easy to wear, and honestly, that’s something I always appreciate.
While writing this post, I came across some stunning pieces by Christopher Esber. His tops are definitely on the more experimental side, with unique cuts and thoughtful details, and I’m genuinely obsessed. They feel like wearable art and are perfect for those nights when I want something bold but still elegant.
Alaïa, too, always surprises me with interesting shapes and elevated textures, which I find perfect for summer dinners, cocktails, or that moment when a look needs a bit of drama.

I love summer for so many reasons, but mostly because getting dressed can be so simple yet impactful. With the right top, everything else falls into place – whether you’re heading to brunch, wandering a beachside town, or sitting down to dinner as the sun sets.
If you’re building your summer wardrobe, I always recommend starting with a few neutral, well-made tops that work for everyday – and then adding one or two statement options that make you feel incredible the moment you put them on.
That’s my formula for warm-weather style: easy, breezy, and always a little bit chic.
