Food, Coffee & Outfit Guide to Barcelona

My Favourite Brunch & Coffee Spots in the City

Barcelona has always held a special place in my heart. I spent a good part of my student days here, and the city’s vibrant energy, sunshine-filled days, and warm Mediterranean spirit made it one of my all-time favourite places in the world. Even now, years later, my work brings me back at least once a year – and each visit brings back so many memories, it’s always a joy to return.

On my most recent trip, I decided to explore some super cool new food and coffee spots that had been on my list. I love places that not only serve delicious food but are also aesthetically pleasing – beautifully designed interiors, thoughtfully plated dishes, and yes, perfect for snapping a quick Instagram pic before taking that first bite (guilty as charged!).

Here are four places that really stood out this time:

1. Honest Greens

If you’re looking for a spot that ticks all the boxes – healthy, nourishing, and incredibly tasty – Honest Greens is a must. Their menu is packed with fresh bowls, colourful salads, and sugar-free treats. I couldn’t resist the banana bread, which I’d honestly go back for any day. Whether it’s lunch, dinner, or a mid-day snack, this place is perfect for feeling good without sacrificing flavour. They have several locations across the city, so you can choose whichever one fits into your day – there’s even one right by the beach.

2. T44

I stumbled upon T44 during a morning walk and ended up staying far longer than planned. It’s an easy-going, cosy brunch spot with a seriously impressive pastry selection. Their granola bowl was fresh and satisfying, and the carrot cake? Absolutely divine. I also tried the cherry kombucha which was so refreshing. The vibe here is relaxed, and the menu has plenty of playful, fun dishes that make it hard to choose just one.

3. Onis Coffee

Onis Café in Barcelona is a cozy and welcoming spot, perfect for a relaxed coffee break. Their specialty coffee is rich and smooth, making it a great place for coffee lovers. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick espresso or a leisurely cappuccino, it’s definitely worth a visit.

4. Syra Coffee

A true hidden gem when it comes to iced matcha – not only was it delicious, but also very reasonably priced. Syra offers a wide variety of drinks, making it a great stop for something refreshing while exploring the city. The clean, modern aesthetic of the café makes it both welcoming and camera-friendly, of course.

5. La Papa

I also visited La Papa, a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing spot in Barcelona. The avocado toast was absolutely delicious, and the meal salads were fresh and satisfying. We also tried the matcha, which was fantastic, and they have a lovely selection of desserts. Definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for a great brunch spot!

6. La Flauta

La Flauta is a charming tapas bar in the heart of Barcelona, best known for its signature La Flauta sandwich – a baguette-style dish that truly lives up to its name. In case you didn’t know, dinner in Barcelona often starts after 9 PM, which might feel late compared to other parts of the world. This spot is perfect for a laid-back, late-night meal worth trying.

So, if you’re heading to Barcelona anytime soon, these are my tried and tested go-to spots. Whether you’re after a wholesome lunch, a lazy brunch, or just a really good cup of coffee, these places combine good taste with good vibes – and you’ll leave with a full heart (and camera roll).

May and June are especially lovely in Barcelona – the weather is warm but not too hot, perfect for strolling through the city streets, discovering new corners, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. And of course, many take advantage of this time of year to relax by the beach and enjoy the early summer sun.

But before this blog turns into a full-on food guide, let’s get back to basics – fashion, of course. I’m also sharing some of the outfits I wore during my stay, from easy daytime looks to evening styles perfect for warm Barcelona nights. Enjoy!
