Effortless Style & Practical Tips for Every Occasion...

Dubai has been one of Filippo’s and my favorite destinations for years – an ideal place to spend the holidays, welcome the New Year in peace, and recharge. If you’re planning a trip and wondering what to wear, I’m sharing our outfits along with some useful tips to help you pack effortlessly. With its mix of luxury, tradition, and breathtaking landscapes, Dubai is a city where fashion meets culture, and dressing appropriately while staying true to your style will make you feel both comfortable and confident.

Dressed to Dine & Shop

For afternoon lunches or a day spent exploring Dubai’s high-end shopping destinations, opt for stylish yet practical outfits. A flowing maxi dress with a structured blazer or a lightweight jumpsuit is perfect for these occasions. Sandals, mules, or even low heels can complete the look while keeping things effortless and elegant.

Dubai Mall is an absolute shopping paradise, and I always look forward to visiting! From luxury boutiques to unique local brands, it’s a place where you can easily spend hours exploring. However, keep in mind that the temperature inside malls is usually around 17°C, so it can feel quite chilly. I always bring a light cardigan, a blazer, or a scarf to throw over my dress or sleeveless top – trust me, you’ll appreciate having an extra layer!

Sunset Dinners

Dubai’s golden-hour ambiance is truly magical, making sunset dinners an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re dining by the beach, on a rooftop with panoramic city views, or in the charming streets of Old Dubai, opting for an elegant yet effortless outfit is key. Midi or maxi dresses in soft, flowing fabrics strike the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. Neutral tones or pastel shades beautifully complement the golden hues of the setting sun. Pair your look with delicate accessories and chic sandals or low heels for a refined yet relaxed feel.

Beachside Relaxation

Dubai’s stunning beaches and lavish resorts call for stylish yet practical swimwear. Bikinis and one-piece swimsuits are completely acceptable on the beach and by the pool. However, when walking to and from these areas, it’s advisable to wear a light cover-up, such as a flowy kaftan or a linen shirt with loose trousers. Many resorts also have beachside restaurants, where a chic yet relaxed outfit will ensure you look put-together while staying comfortable.

Dubai Dress Code:
What to Know Before You Go

Dubai is a stunning city where fashion plays a big role in its vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re exploring, dining by the sea, or admiring the skyline, here are key tips to stay stylish, comfortable, and respectful of local customs:

Beach & Swimwear Etiquette
Bikinis and swimsuits are allowed at the beach and pool, but always wear a cover-up when walking elsewhere. In hotel resorts, dress codes are more relaxed, while public beaches may have stricter expectations.

Casual Daytime Outfits
Lightweight fabrics, loose dresses, and linen sets are perfect for staying cool in the heat. In shopping malls, restaurants, and public places, it’s recommended to dress modestly—covering shoulders and knees is advised.

Chic Evening Wear
Dubai’s nightlife is glamorous, so romantic midi dresses, elegant gowns, and stylish long-sleeved options are great for sunset dinners and nights out. High-end restaurants and lounges may have formal dress codes, so check in advance.

Visiting Religious & Cultural Sites
When visiting mosques or traditional locations, dressing conservatively is a must. Women should cover their shoulders, arms, and legs and wear a headscarf, while men should opt for long pants and sleeved shirts.

Business & Formal Settings
If you have business meetings or fine dining plans, opt for smart, elegant outfits. Long dresses, tailored trousers, and classic accessories create a polished look.

Footwear Matters
Sandals and stylish flats work best for the day, while heels or dressy shoes are ideal for evenings out. Keep in mind that some venues require closed-toe shoes for men.
