Key ingredients of my Fashion Week street style
Fashion Month is a whirlwind. It can be easy to get caught up in the style extravaganza’s ensuing fanfare. There are fittings, outfit changes, running to and from shows, unforgettable experiences, fabulous people and, of course … work. So, naturally, sometimes I forget about all of the exquisite accessories that bring together entire looks and make my outfits work. I can assure you that each fashion show season I make countless mental notes for me to share my favourites with you guys, and now I’m acting good on that promise.
Let’s dive right into the selection of accessories that I couldn’t do Fashion Month without. From ‘It’ bags of the moment in the colours of the season, to special jewellery pieces and the shades I rely on to give my ensembles attitude. Let’s begin.
In The Bag
Always my favourite accessory to think about during Fashion Month or any other time of the year. Right now, I’m loving minimalist silhouettes – like The Row’s Amazon clutch that has a simple flat rectangular shape. And if you thought that a new fashion season would cause me to turn my back on my go-to beloved shades of last year – you’d be wrong. It’s all about warm burgundy and chocolate brown hues (lately I’ve been preferring a milk choc shade).
I’ve been having a lot of fun toting reigning ‘It’ bags around fashion’s hotspots, and I really like mixing things up a tad by embracing these tried-and-true styles in new textures and finishes. Think the Alaïa Le Teckel in brown suede and Miu Miu’s Beau bag (sort of like a shoulder bag iteration of the Arcadie bag) in shiny patent leather.

Step It Up
Just call my Carrie Bradshaw at this point. For the Fashion Weeks of New York, London, Paris and Milan it’s all about statement factor. But that doesn’t mean that I choose to wear styles that are uncomfortable and impractical. From patent burgundy leather options by Miu Miu and Alaïa, to my trusty favourite mules from Victoria Beckham. One of my current footwear obsessions is an exaggeratedly long point-toe shape – Saint Laurent does a GORGEOUS pair.

Make It Shine
Jewellery is such an easy way to make my looks pop – PERFECT for Fashion Month. At the moment, I prefer gold over silver. And structured pieces have well and truly earned a coveted spot on my hotlist. Khaite’s Tidal earrings complete with a pearl make such an elegant statement (I adored these as part of my look for the Khaite show). Chunky gold earrings are still holding onto fashion’s spotlight which everyone is glad about. And I’m also loving playing with some animal-themed designs that feel super fun – like Cartier’s range of Panthère designs.

The Right Kind Of Shade
Despite the chilly weather, this Fashion Month season is all about the shades. I’m such a fan of statement aviators at the moment – especially Bottega Veneta’s tortoiseshell version that are finished with gold details. I’m also loving thin metal frames and retro yellow-tinted lenses for a cool-girl look that’s easy to recreate.

Hair Accessories
A whimsical addition to any look, hair accessories have proved the most playful part of my Fashion Month outfits this season. And it’s not just about dainty bows and floral embellishments for my locks. I’ve been loving glossy metallic hair clips and ties, especially when paired with simple neutrals to give my looks a little something extra.
