A Fresh Start for 2025
How long will the New Year – New me last you might wonder? Well let me tell you I managed to stick to my last years resolutions so well, and today the feeling of pride is all over me. I’ve always believed that resolutions aren’t about drastic changes but about embracing growth and becoming the best version of ourselves, one small step at a time. Reflecting on the past year, I realised how easy it is to slip into autopilot, letting days blur into weeks without truly savouring the moment. This year, I’m determined to change that and approach life with more intention.
2024 was a year of immense personal growth, yet there were areas where I felt I could’ve been kinder to myself. So, in 2025, I’m setting resolutions that feel both inspiring and achievable. These aren’t just goals; they’re promises to myself to live more mindfully and passionately. Let me share them with you, and perhaps they might resonate with your own aspirations too, or even inspire you to try a little harder and stick to your own ones too. Let’s keep each other accountable this year, shall we?
Not to Be on Autopilot
How often do we rush through life without truly living it? Last year, I caught myself going through the motions, ticking tasks off a never-ending to-do list but not stopping to appreciate the journey. One thing that annoys me the most is that I was so out of tune I didnt listen to my own inner voice. This year, I want to change that. I’m committing to being more present, whether it’s savouring my morning coffee, enjoying the sound of Milan’s bustling streets, or taking a moment to breathe during a hectic day.
Living intentionally means saying yes to the things that light me up and no to what doesn’t align with my values. It’s about making space for joy, connection, and spontaneity. I’ve started by setting small daily reminders to pause and reflect, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer already.

Regular Pilates
Who am I even now that I found a physical activity I actually like?
Honestly, I barely recognise her, but I love her! Last year, I discovered the magic of Reformer Pilates and how it not only strengthens the body but also calms the mind. It’s become my favourite way to unwind and recharge after a busy week.
For someone who used to struggle with consistency in fitness, finding an activity I genuinely enjoy has made all the difference. Pilates isn’t just a workout; it’s a form of self-care that I now look forward to.
My goal for 2025 is to stay committed and challenge myself with new moves. Let’s see how far I can go – perhaps even mastering that elusive teaser pose!

Focus on Italian Progress
My big goal was to be able to fully speak Italian to my parents in law. The language, the culture, It feels closer than ever, and I’ve realised there’s no better time to fully embrace it and start using it more confidently. Last year, I managed to hit 342 days on Duolingo, which I’m quite proud of, but this year, I want to take it a step further.
Beyond apps and textbooks, I’ve started practising Italian with Filippo, who is always ready for a chat. Having someone to speak with regularly not only makes the process fun but also helps me feel more connected to the language.
It’s a beautiful way to immerse myself in the culture, and I’m excited to see how much progress I can make.

Back to Journaling
Journaling used to be my sanctuary, a space where I could pour out my thoughts, dreams, and reflections. Unfortunately, it took a backseat last year amidst the chaos of life. But this year, I’m bringing it back.
There’s something so therapeutic about putting pen to paper, letting words flow freely without judgement. My goal is to journal every evening, even if it’s just a few lines. It’s a way to process emotions, celebrate wins, and learn from challenges. Plus, it’s always fascinating to look back and see how much growth has happened over time.

Speak Kindly to Myself Every Day
Why is it that we’re often our harshest critics?
This year, I want to change the narrative and become my own biggest cheerleader. Speaking kindly to myself is more than just a resolution; it’s a practice of self-love that I want to carry into every single day.
Instead of focusing on what I didn’t do or could’ve done better, I’m choosing to celebrate small wins and remind myself that I’m doing my best. Affirmations, gratitude lists, and simply catching negative self-talk before it spirals have already made a noticeable difference. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that kindness begins within.
