One of my top favourite new footwear picks of Autumn/Winter 2024 needs no introduction. Gucci’s Horsebit Riding boots are every bit the love letter to the Italian brand’s esteemed equestrian heritage. With a slim Horsebit buckle detail across the ankle and the house’s classic red and green Web Stripe pattern on the pull tab, this design combines Gucci’s timeless style codes with one of the hottest boot trends of the season. Now it’s time to style them.
In terms of the range of colours, materials and styles, the selection is plentiful. Gucci has classic as well as shiny leather, plus a GG Monogram-embossed design and suede options. There’s the classic riding boot silhouette, as well as ankle and knee-high versions, too. When it comes to styling, I’ve stuck to the classic option in shiny black leather and burgundy (what else?!).

Up first is undoubtedly the most classic look. To embrace this style’s traditional feel, I’ve opted for skin-tight leggings to lean into the sporty equestrian aesthetic that Gucci was founded on, and am keeping things simple with a belted grey oversized blazer, white shirt and my trusty Hermès Constance bag.

My love affair with burgundy is one for the ages. It’s proved one of the most popular colours of 2024 and it just feels tailor-made for autumn/winter dressing this year. In boot form, I feel that burgundy really makes an outfit pop. I love showing this style off with tailored shorts and skirts – a great transitional look that will be perfect for early spring next year too.
