Summer brings more good things than I can think to name but one downside is the damaging effect to our hair. Scorching hot beach days, dips in the pool and trips spent soaking up hot rays can all wreak havoc on the general look, texture and health of our once luscious locks. This is something I’ve experienced each year, but lucky for you guys, I’ve developed a trusty formula for combating this beauty faux pas and restoring my hair to its pre-summer prosperity – and I’m eager to share.

Here, I’ve put together my list of top picks that I use to fight damage from chlorine, sunlight and pollutants to restore the health and shine of my hair in time for autumn. Masks, leave-in conditioners, gels and oils. Sometimes hair care can feel a little overwhelming. But for my curated edit of top picks to bring my hair back to life post summer, I opt to keep things simple. Never underestimate the power of trusty hair accessories that become part of our everyday hair care routines. From satin scrunchies to sleep in (I love how they help minimise frizz and breakage, plus they don’t leave a crease) to handy claw clips, headbands and hair elastics that I always need a million of because they’re so easy to lose.

When battling frizz, breakage and general damage, I need the right tools for the job.
