It’s time to welcome the sunshine

Hello June, hello summer! This time of year is all about embracing the warmer weather, and if that doesn’t come, embracing that laissez-faire philosophy and boost of confidence that goes hand in hand with the season. June has been another busy month with lots of travelling (no complaints here), including attending Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Fashion Week in Paris (a literal dream). So trusty products I can rely on and little indulgences have been key.

In this post, I want to share with you all my June Monthly Favourites. From slinky silhouettes and jewellery that channel a Euro Summer, to the series I’ve been watching and the fashion events I’ve loved. Let’s go!

Satin Slip Dresses

A slip dress for summer is nothing new but there’s something about the simplicity of the style that makes it a returning favourite each year. Romantic and understated, a satin option gives a softly glamorous aesthetic, channelling ‘90s minimalism which continues to rank highly in terms of covetable style decades.

Whether midi or maxi length, a satin slip easily creates a slinky silhouette that proves super versatile in your summer wardrobe. Oh holiday with leather slides or mesh ballet flats and a tote bag when it’s hot and you’re heading to the office. My go-to brands are The Row, Cos, Mango, Victoria Beckham, Anine Bing and Max Mara.

Chanel Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Show

The pinnacle of high fashion fresh from the Paris runway. It doesn’t get better than this. I was unbelievably lucky to be in the fashion capital for couture week and to get an invite to the Chanel show. Held at the Palais Garnier, it was an extravagant display of fashion at the opera, complete with embellished tweed, suits in classic and reimagined silhouettes and, of course, a Chanel Bride. It was a true honour to be in attendance.

Heaven Mayhem Earrings

A new jewellery brand I’ve been loving lately is Heaven Mayhem. Based in LA, they’re all about cool girl energy and are quickly becoming known for their statement, vintage-inspired earrings. Great for elevating minimalist summer looks whether you’re on holiday or wanting to add a little something extra to office outfits. The oversized heart-shaped studs and double knot design are top of my wishlist.

Colour Trend: Butter Yellow

A pastel take on sunshine yellow, butter yellow is paler and feels almost like a neutral with a summer twist. Spotted on lots of the Spring/Summer 2024 runways, from Jacquemus and Loewe, to Alaia and Bottega Veneta, it’s definitely a hue to take note of for the season. Great for styling with other neutrals like black, ivory and navy, and I also love it with red accessories to really make them pop.

Rhode Peptide Lip Tints

Tinted lips for summer are a must. Not too thick and sticky like a lipstick or gloss can sometimes be. My current obsession is Rhode’s Summer Peptide Lip Tints. Latest offering of four limited-edition shades that are perfect for warmer weather, they’re sheer but buildable and give a gorgeous glossy shine that’s great for those no-makeup makeup looks on summer days. They also come with a matching colour phone cases. Shade of choice? Peach Pit.

Commodity Juice Fragrance

Summer fragrances should be fruity like a refreshing beverage so my spritz of choice is Commodity Juice. The newest fragrance from the Commodity perfumery, it combines strawberry, rhubarb and raspberry for a sweet, tart and juicy scent that’s been helping me welcome summer.

Cristóbal Balenciaga Miniseries

And lastly, watch to watch. When it’s time to unwind and you want something that’s engaging enough to capture your attention but not too heavy for some mid-week downtime, the Cristóbal Balenciaga miniseries on Disney+ is a great option for true fashion devotees. Telling the King of Haute Couture’s story of his life and work in Paris during the 20th century, it’s a true ode to the origins of the fashion industry as we know it today, with too many iconic archival looks to count.

Although it premiered back in January, I’ve only just gotten around to watching it (Haute Couture Fashion Week had me a little inspired, I’ll admit).

And that is it for this monthly favourites.

Tell me which one you like the most,

xoxo, Tamara
