Bottega Veneta Andiamo Bag Review

Amidst all the new bags in my collection, this one has been patiently waiting for its turn to be evaluated and for me to share my honest impressions after some time of use. Its delay is solely due to timing and my current preoccupation with other bags, but its moment has arrived—the Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag. Shall we begin? The name “Andiamo” in Italian translates to “Let’s go,” which I believe perfectly encapsulates the personality of this bag. While it comes in several models and different leather colours, each model exudes classic elegance and Italian chic, wouldn’t you agree?

Let’s dive into the story of my bag specifically. It all started last year when I first laid eyes on the East-West model. Well there was another model before it, but one thing at the time. I pondered for quite some time about which colour to choose. I ordered it early in the year in black, and it arrived just in time for a weekend getaway to St. Moritz. Naturally, I was thrilled, but I still questioned my decision about whether the colour was truly a hit. That’s when I decided to also order it in the Emerald Green shade, so that I could compare the two and make an informed choice. And that’s exactly what happened during Paris Haute Couture week. It turned out that my decision to reorder was the right one. I realised that the bag was too playful and chic to have it in black, especially considering I already have quite a few classic black bags. As for the green one—well, I think it speaks for itself. Its vibrant hue adds a pop of personality to any outfit, and it’s become my go-to accessory for events where I want to stand out. My second contender would definitely have been a brown or a beautiful deep burgundy Andiamo.

The Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag can be carried by hand, or worn either on the shoulder or crossbody thanks to the detachable handle and shoulder strap. Top handle bag meticulously crafted in supple Intrecciato nappa leather with a sliding cross-body strap and signature knot detail.

This bag has taken the TikTok and whole of the internet by storm? Whats so special about it I wonder? Its certainly pricier than the gorgeous HOP which I understand considering the structure and the design, but each and every long clutch has been sold out now for months… This really leaves me to wonder.

Upon reflection, I wholeheartedly recommend considering this bag. Despite being relatively new, it has proven itself beautifully. No matter which size you choose, I believe you can’t go wrong. Since I cant get my hands on a clutch, I am considering adding the biggest Andiamo to my collection. It looks absolutely perfect for travelling. My East-West model effortlessly accommodates all essentials and more—from phone and wallet to sunglasses, a water bottle, tissues, hand cream, and even a small notebook. Bottega has always been renowned for its exceptional pieces and quality, and it has not disappointed here either. I give this bag a solid 8.5 out of 10.Why only 8.5 you wonder? Personally I found one tiny flaw – the strap.

Somehow I struggle understanding how to carry the bag (using the strap) for it to maintain the hardware detailing centred in the middle (as its often photographed), if anyone has any tips on this – I am all ears.
