Hermès Elan Bag Review

I promised we will talk about this beauty in one of my recent YouTube videos. After wrapping up Fashion Month in Paris, you know I had to treat myself a little. And this one was not expected to be honest, which was specially rewarding. Among the few things I splurged on at the Hermès store in Paris, there was one standout piece that’s been on my wish list since last year, as you can tell from the title – the Kelly Elan bag. This bag was originally introduced to us in 2000, stayed around for few years only and made a triumphant return on the Hermès Spring 2023 runway.

Among the show’s highlights were the reintroduction of some beloved discontinued bags, including the beloved Kelly Elan, now reborn with a fresh perspective. One standout variation that caught everyone’s attention was the Feather Kelly Elan Bag. Retaining the classic silhouette of the original Kelly Elan but with a contemporary update, this bag featured an additional strap at the back and was adorned with exquisite feathers. Available in captivating sunset hues like gold, orange, and coral, it was a true embodiment of elegance and sophistication.

You must be wondering what I love about it so much? Well. you know I love the long bags, such as Pochette and Kelly Cut is also such a dream, so here we are yet another elongated version of the iconic clutch, with a shoulder strap even, that will be perfect for day trips, evenings and even travelling, as it conveniently fits my passport, wallet, boarding passes, keys and some beauty essentials.

I chose the Etoupe grey shade. It resembles the Kelly Cut bag in shape, featuring a shoulder strap rather than a top handle. Paired with Paladium hardware, the strap is just the right size and easy to remove. When I first spotted this bag on the runway, I fell head over heels and knew I had to have it! You may already know that I own another bag in this colour, the Birkin 30, which gave me the option to test the versatility of this shade, if I may say so.

Inside, it features soft smooth leather and a convenient little back pocket. It’s the perfect size for an evening out, yet versatile enough to double as a clutch. I debuted it last weekend at the lake when Filippo and I went on a day trip. The first impression was more than positive, and it effortlessly complemented my outfit, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the whole look.
