BUY ITEMS THAT YOU CAN MIX & MATCH WITH EACHOTHER
My favourite season for fashion is finally here and I am so excited. Not sure what I love more, the amazing cashmere sweaters, the wool trousers or maxi coats, but one thing that is very important for me is having pieces that I can easily style. That is why I believe building a capsule wardrobe is maybe even more important in the winter than in the warmer months. We all know winter is fun for layering (not fun for freezing) but it can be hard to not get overwhelmed with different coats, boots and some options that aren’t necessarily easy to style. Solution to that styling fatigue is most definitely “Capsule Wardrobe”.
The idea of a capsule wardrobe, which is a small (not necessarily small but concise) closet that contains the essential items that can be easily matched to save lot of time in the morning, was all the rage in the fashion industry not too long ago. I believe the trick to being able to style it all easily is having a lot of neutrals in your wardrobe – but also pieces that serve several different occasions. In this blog post I choose all the items I would order straight away if I had to build my wardrobe from scratch.
Two luxury brands come to my mind when I think about a capsule wardrobe and staple pieces – Khaite and The Row. If I were to build my perfect look these days it is most likely Khaite jeans or The Row trousers, paired with a knit from those same brands and I would put a Max Mara or Magda Butrym coat over. Would have all these items in neutral colours as I love when a few shades are styled together.
Capsule wardrobe doesn’t need to necessarily break the bank, specially since there are so many high street brands that make incredible – good quality pieces that will check all the boxes when it comes to styling and having that timeless essence. Some of my favourites are for sure COS, All Saints, Arket and Karen Millen. Recently I got my hands on this wonderful Karen Millen top that is cashmere and looks no different to the one I already have from Khaite. I matched it with trousers that everyone thought are from Loro Piana. In case you want more high street options, make sure to check out the blog post we published recently HERE.
