Silk Dresses From Summer To Fall

HOW TO WEAR SILK DRESSES INTO THE FALL SEASON

Silk slip dresses don’t need to be in fashion to be effortlessly beautiful. There is something sensual about them and I am a true fan of the ling figure hugging ones that are made of a slightly thicker silk. I have been loving this one from Saint Laurent ever since I bought it, and I recently wore it again in Tokyo. This actually inspired me to write this blog post, as all I can think about is how I will wear this dress even as we are heading into fall, and I went on to discover some more dresses that would be suitable. In Tokyo I wore my dress with a Kelly Pochette in Vert Fizz and a pair of Alaïa heart heels, but if it was a bit more chilly, I would throw a blazer over the shoulders and I think it gives it a really cool look.

Because we still have a few hot days coming up(and some of you live in Southern Hemisphere) I picked some mini dresses as well, my favourites being the mini version of my Saint Laurent dress, as well as two Valentino dresses in different shades of brown. You can see I stuck to mainly white, beige and brown tones as those are the colours dominating both seasons for me.

Moving on to maxi sleeveless dresses – there are a few that I love, for example the strapless Saint Laurent dress, and then a very similar dress but slightly shorter for a more casual look from The Row. If you are into colour, I found two dresses for you, a gorgeous Magda Butrym piece in light pink, as well as a burgundy strapless dress from Nili Lotan.

Then we have the long sleeve dresses which will be perfect for some colder days, when it’s not just yet the jacket and coat weather. You know I love a Christopher Esber dress and this brown colour is just perfect for autumn. If you are looking for an elegant, simple and timeless piece, I would go for the black Bottega Veneta dress or the Loro Piana which is again the perfect shade for autumn.
