TRIP TO LAGO MAGGIORE WITH LOUIS VUITTON
Only an hour away from Milan lays the beautiful Lago Maggiore, where Louis Vuitton Cruise 2024 Show took place this year. Although we had a little trouble as the whole weekend was rainy, I enjoyed my time with Filippo and all my friends before we saw the amazing Cruise collection by Nicolas Ghesquière. This was my third LV show in the last 3 months and it did not disappoint. From the scuba motives, to mermaid styles it was a summer dream.
The island, which has been the centuries-long residence of the illustrious Borromeo family, may only be small, but every nook and cranny seems to be brimming with charm, mystery, and inspiration. The show notes stated that Louis Vuitton presented a paradoxical “botanical cruise,” “populated by drifting creatures that abandon aquatic dwellings for the discovery of terrestrial wonders,” with this historical site in mind, where lush gardens and the lake waters meet.
For more than 20 years, Ghesquière has been a fervent user of neoprene and scuba materials, as seen in his iconic work for Balenciaga and numerous occasions during his time at Louis Vuitton, as well as in his work for other fashion houses. Trompe l’oeil water droplets and scale prints on one-piece scuba swimsuits, jackets, and scuba tops this season took it to the next level.
