Shoes, shoes, shoes. I certainly love them and buy them in a way no centipede would even. This seasons trend vary between practical and minimalist to more out-there options – but in both options comfort is a priority. I think we have witnesses lots of lower heel and sparkly models, but I will come to that in a second. As I was cleaning out my wardrobe for spring, I really got the chance to see what style of shoes that are trending I already own, and which are high on my Wishlist for the coming season.
From sparkly ballet flats to simple Mary Jane pumps, these are my favourite trending shoes this season.
Mary Jane
You could have noticed my slight obsession with the Prada Mary Jane heels – very comfortable, classic and chic option, so I am glad these are making a comeback. Mary Janes are always safe because technically they are never NOT in fashion, its just that at the moment houses like MiuMiu and Prada got such hot models that they are unavoidable. You all know I have a pair of Prada’s with logo from last season that I wore so much – so Im considering purchasing the upgraded version too.

A sophisticated shoe you can style in many ways.
The Mary Jane used to be a girly shoe that has recently made the transition to being a very cool girl option. The style of shoe is a very recognizable strap going below your ankle, with a pointed toe. The way Prada did the heel with their Mary Jane gives it an even more upgraded and elevated look. Do you own a pair of Mary Janes? If not would you consider getting them now?

If you are looking for a comfortable shoe that will go with almost everything in your wardrobe – I highly suggest the Prada pumps.

Woven Shoes
The fishermen style shoe has became more and more popular over the past summer, but this season it has come from the flat beach sandal to a more sophisticated heeled look.
Bottega Veneta has been doing these type of woven shoes for a while now, but they have transformed the look by making the pattern look more undone and have bigger straps. Intrecciato has over been an ongoing thing with BV but they give it a slight refresh every now and then. Sometimes its a big woven piece of leather, other times its just a detail, but I have to admit that nobody does it like Bottega Veneta does. There are so many woven leather shoes you can find online, but below are some of my favourites.

Sparkly heels are here to stay, with addition to sparkly flats this season. The idea behind the trend is incorporating evening wear to your day-to-day life.
After hectic fashion week I am more than happy to go back to more flats, but they don’t have to be all that casual. You can wear these with a simple summer monotone outfit – maybe some linen pants and they will be the star of the show.
One of my favourite heels I own are Jimmy Choo Saeda, love how they sparkle and in fact you will never go wrong with a Choo heel. When it comes to bedazzled flats this season I’m all over MiuMiu flats and Chanel slingback (or that runway boot I’m still to get my hands on). Love to style them with jeans and casual pieces to achieve that balance.

The Wedge is Back
For anyone who enjoys a high heel without the uncomfortable side of it you will be pleased to know wedges are back this season. They came back but with a slightly shorter version which again makes it more cool girl vibe.
I am obsessed with Alaia wedge and got my hands on a Bottega pair of nude classic wedge that seems perfect for walking on those narrow uneven streets this summer in Milan, Saint Tropez or even Capri. When you want to look polished but stay comfy, this is my go to model. How lucky they are back in fashion.

Sharp and Pointed
What I love pairing these sharp and pointed heels with is a very long trouser, which then makes the toe part barely peek through but gives you that powerful and chic look. Will I ever have enough of these? Somehow I don’t think so and Im not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that my first pair of heels was pointy stiletto. The sharper the better.
This about Saint Laurent, Bottega, Jimmy Choo, all those gorgeous Mach&Mach sparkly models. So excited to wear them this spring and summer.

And again this seasons specialty is them coming back in a shorter heel version.

Ballerinas
This trend has returned after a good 10 year break – I am glad I saved my Chanel ballet flats from the previous era. Ballerinas, slingbacks – this is my go to flat shoes this season. Besides saving my old MiuMiu and Chanel ballerinas I might have even over-purchased them in pretty much every colour. Latest addition to my wardrobe are two tone Chanel flats, white leather MiuMiu ballerinas and also MiuMiu woven crystallised ones – if you followed carefully you will know that the last model ticks quite a few boxes.
