In symphony with Gucci’s SS22 collection Love Parade, their beauty proposal for next season also reflects the House new take on Hollywood influence.

Their beauty repertoire aims to hint at glamour while keeping a fresh look, not too matte or refined. For the show, Thomas de Kluyver, global makeup consultant for Gucci Beauty, opted to leave the models’ skin nearly bare, just enhancing their natural glow with a couple of House products. On the contrary, he went bold on the eyes and lips, playing with a few shades at a time of Gucci’s new lipsticks and eyeshadows. But probably the star of their beauty line was the mascara L’Obscur, which can be applied using two different techniques to either achieve a classic or a bold look. Gucci’s tutorials introducing this mascara are definitely a must-watch, as they turn conventional makeup tutorials into fun short clips. These are some of my favourite beauty products from Gucci that I currently use. I’ll go over them following the applying process, so my first recommendation is the primer, which, for me, is also the star of this list!

SKIN

Sérum de Beauté Fluide Matifiant Primer

Their Sérum de Beauté evens tone and plumps skin while creating a beautiful soft glow effect. It’s perfect for tackling uneven texture and controlling shine.

The mattifying primer optimizes foundation coverage for all-day wear through a non-sticky formula suitable for all skin types. It creates a silky film that helps camouflage lines, pores and wrinkles and the makeup to stay put.

The liquid formula contains Moambe Jaune Tree extract that regulates sebum, Powder Technology for better blendability and a natural finish, and Elastomer Technology, which provides a soft-focus effect that minimizes the look of pores.

On the other hand, Gucci’s new primer is free of parabens and sulphates, vegan and gluten-free. Because of my skin type, I like a mattifying primer, but if you prefer a luminous finish, it is also available.

Fluide de Beauté Fini Naturel Foundation

This natural-finish liquid foundation, developed for normal, combination, and oily skin types, provides a flawless complexion.

My favourite thing about it is the buildable formula that offers controlled coverage. It is lightweight and non-greasy, making it comfortable on the skin all day long.

It uses Polymer Technology, which provides a texture for effortless application, Soft-Focus Powder Technology, which helps blur imperfections, large pores and wrinkles and Glycerine, which improves skin-barrier functions. Like Gucci’s primer, the foundation is free of parabens, sulphates, vegan and gluten-free.

EYES

Beauté Des Yeux Floral Eyeshadow Palette

Gucci’s eyeshadow palette comes with seven matte shades, three metallic shades, and two satin shades that you can mix into endless combinations like the House did in their Love Parade show. The metallic shades are silk-soft and offer a chrome finish that brightens the eyes, and the satin shades turn into an ultra-thin film with a sophisticated silky effect. All shades are easy to apply and highly pigmented, delivering high colour from the first stroke and lasting up to 9 hours.

The palette doesn’t contain animal ingredients, animal by-products, or any other animal-derived ingredients.

Thanks to the removable tray, you can keep and give another life to the beautiful vintage-inspired floral palette, using it as a jewellery box, for example. Moreover, Gucci will be releasing eyeshadow refill trays soon.

Stylo Contour des Yeux Eyeliner

The eyeliner is highly pigmented, perfect for different styles, from vibrant waterlines and cat eyes to full eyeshadows, and its creamy texture offers an effortless glide-on experience. The formula is vegan and waterproof and contains a combination of silicones to make it long-lasting and carnauba wax to deliver softness.

If you always go for a black shade but would like to try something different, I recommend their shade in anthracite. It is still a neutral choice, but it will bring some freshness and uniqueness to your look!

MASCARA

Mascara L’Obscur

Gucci’s new mascara has a uniquely shaped brush that you can use vertically and horizontally to achieve multiple results. For the classic look, use the wand horizontally to apply the mascara from the root to the top. If you want to try a bolder look, brush your lashes vertically to achieve a voluminous and heavy finish.

The flexible brush ensures an easy application, while the thin brush tip catches the tiny lashes at the top and bottom corners of the eyes, which is brilliant!

The formula is free of sulphates and parabens and delivers a long-wearing finish of up to 12 hours.

LIPS

Rouge à Lèvres Mat Lipstick – Julie Rose 210

The Julie Rose 210 is a muted medium-rose lipstick inspired by the glamour of Old Hollywood and Alessandro Michele’s creative spirit.

The long-wearing formula is lightweight and creamy, delivering rich colouring and a velvety matte finish in just one swipe, which I love. Plus, the engraved gold bullet that comes in is super chic!

Rouge à Lèvres Satin Lipstick – 25*Goldie Red

Also known as the Gucci Red, Alessandro Michele chose this shade and marked it with the number 25 and a star, two symbols seen throughout the House’s collections.

The lipstick is creamy and colour-rich, delivering a long-lasting and smooth finish with a soft fruity scent, which is lovely.

But there’s more! You can also use the 25* Goldie as a blusher. Just apply two to three touches directly onto the cheek and blend it in with your fingers or a blush brush in an upward motion from the centre of the face toward the temples.

Éclat De Beauté Effet Lumière gel face gloss

It is the perfect lip gloss, but it is more than that, as you can also use it to add a luminous light effect to your eyes and cheeks. Gucci’s gloss is easy to apply and remove and delivers a transparent veil of radiance while letting your skin breathe.

The formula is long-wearing, vegan and free of sulphates and parabens.
