SHOPPING GUIDE: BEST BOOTS FOR AUTUMN 2021

Boots are a footwear staple in every fashion lover’s autumnal wardrobe.

The style of shoe certainly holds a special kind of appeal in my heart. I don’t know whether it’s the welcomed break they provide from a summer of open toe options or perhaps simply because there always seems to be a cohort of covetable booties on offer come the colder months. Regardless, I’m eager to start reveling in the joy of autumn boot trends this year. From bulky styles set to make fashion hotspots your stomping ground, to statement high heeled designs with the ability to transform any outfit into a power look, the boots on offer this season are nothing short of bootylicious!

Expect to see prominent platforms, sizable soles and knee-high treasures.

Prada Jacquard Knit Platform Boots

As COVID restrictions lighten and the fashion calendar is getting back on track, I’m feeling on top of the world. So this, naturally, must be reflected by the height of my shoes.
Eye-catching ‘70s-esque platforms have been re-emerging as a must-have over the past few seasons and I’m certainly not over the trend yet! My favourite platform design this fall is Prada’s Jacquard Knit Platform Boots. The house’s floral jacquard print is a staple amongst accessories from this year’s Fall/Winter collection.
Stomping around on these chunky block heels is sure to make quite the fashion statement.

Opt for the red and black jacquard knit print.

Valentino 03 Rose Edition Rubber Boots

Shop the Valentino Garavani 03 Rose Edition Rubber Boots

My love of Valentino's 03 Rose Edition range is by now well-known.

But the collection’s pretty rose adorned handbags aren’t the only pieces I’m obsessed with. The heavy-duty appeal of these boots’ thick rubber soles is juxtaposed by the 03 Rose Edition range’s delicate rose petals to create an exquisite, and practical, choice of footwear.

I have a pair in ivory which I wore during the wonderful mayhem which is my Paris Fashion Week schedule!

Heavy-duty footwear is a must when frantically travelling between shows and the Valentino 03 Rose Edition Rubber Boots performed well under the pressure!

Louis Vuitton Patti Wedge High Boots

When I saw these beauties on the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2021 runway I instantly fell in love.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shoe, be it a boot or any other style, which so perfectly exhibits creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s signature chic and stylized aesthetic. Featuring an ultra comfortable wedge heel, double zips and folded straps embossed with metal studs across the toes, the unique design is Ghesquière’s take on a biker jacket in rugged and sexy boot form.

The design is finished with monogram zipper tabs for a touch of the house’s classic LV allure.

Bottega Veneta Flash Boots

Another chunky soled favourite of mine are Bottega Veneta’s Flash Boots

Finished with a vibrantly coloured thick rubber sole and slight heel, these boots elevate any autumn look with a pop of colour. They’re best described as creative director Daniel Lee’s stylish take on wellington boots.

Prada Monolith Brushed Leather Chelsea Boots

Prada’s lug-soled Monolith boots began to grip the fashion world a while back and have no doubt helped propel the chunky sole shoe trend which has become prevalent in recent seasons.

Traditionally, thick soles with indentations are used for sport and work shoes.

But put these soles on a pair of Prada Chelsea Boots and functionality pairs in perfect harmony with classic appeal.

The maxi soles elevate this famous boot style to new heights of desirability.

Versace La Greca Signature Ankle Boots

This style from Versace combines the appeal of lug-soled utilitarian designs with the flamboyance of Versace’s iconic platform shoes.

The La Greca pattern, a newbie print for Fall/Winter 2021, is embossed onto the Chelsea boot style’s elastic inserts and is also engraved onto the design’s platforms.

Tom Ford Padlock Boots

Don’t keep your best autumn boots under lock and key!

The pointed toe boots come just below the knee. Thanks to the metal spike heel, the style exudes sultry attitude, even if it may not be the most comfortable to wear.

Fendi FF Karligraphy Knee-High Boots

In the years since the legend Karl Lagerfeld’s death, his Karligraphy logo for Fendi has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity.

A whole new cohort of Fendi pieces are now adorned with the swirling FF lettering.

The brand’s FF Karligraphy Knee-High Boots are an exemplary example of the Karligraphy motif’s enduring appeal and versatility. With rounded toes, stiletto heels and an array of rich hues to choose from, these boots are the stuff of autumnal fashion dreams.

What a cool post! The Prada chelsea boots look really cool to me.. and those LV ones I have never seen before. I love the idea of the Bottega tire boot but wonder if it will be wearable for me who firstly has little spare time :( and secondly works in an industry that couldn’t be further away from fashion than it is.
