If you’re desperate to achieve a laissez-faire attitude towards life this summer, you will need several things. The first is a cohort of serene summer day dresses, and the rest…
But the summer day dresses I can help you with. These picks are perfect whether you’re looking for something to lounge around at home in as you sip a mojito, or a fanciful summer frock to don whilst on a long-awaited holiday.
For the best dresses this summer expect vibrant colours, cut-outs galore and attire which pairs perfectly with romantic backdrops.
In this post, I’m going to share with you my favourite summer day dresses. Have a read and be one step closer to enjoying a stylish summer.

Hemant and Nandita Veda Mini Dress
Hemant and Nandita is known for its whimsical dress designs. This tiered white style is elegant and fanciful. It’s evocative of regal 19th century fashion and is perfect for when you want to feel dressed up but simultaneously casual.
The tie up bow at the front is a charming finish to the look.
Pair with some strappy sandals for a foolproof summer look.

Bondi Born Kate Maxi Dress in tomato red
From the Y2K-esque halter neck detail with straps which cross over in the middle, to the side slits and bright tomato red colour.
The dress just skims your ankles so it’s long and flowy but also very practical.
It is made with sustainability in mind from a soft silk-blend. This piece will go great with one of my many (many) pairs of chunky heeled mules.

Valentino Short Micro-Faille Dress in mauve

This next pick strays from my usual love of maxi dresses. It’s a short A-line style frock. The pleated material falls straight down from the high and rounded neckline, making the dress look sort of like a mini tent (it’s much more glamorous than I’m making it sound, I promise).
The unique silhouette makes the dress a standout piece.
Alternatively, you can pair it with a statement belt to create an entirely different (but equally enticing) look. I’ve been wearing the dress with other standout Valentino gems like the Roman Stud Top Handle Bag and flats.

Jil Sander White Maxi Dress

You can’t go wrong with a plain white maxi dress to cavort about in all summer long. I would even go so far as to say it’s the summer equivalent of a plain white T, simple, sleek and a must-have. This Jil Sander design is one of my favourites and is ultra versatile, making it well worth the investment.

Cult Gaia Tyra Maxi Dress in beige
This is perhaps my favourite pick from the list. Made from crochet-knit, this maxi dress gives me major beachy bohemian vibes. It sports a prominent V-neckline and cut-outs across the midriff.
It’s ideal for elegant, yet casual occasions like dinner on the beach.
The design features Cult Gaia’s signature ring detail at the centre. I love this dress but be cautious of the fact that it’s a tad see-through – you’ve been warned!
Dion Lee Striped Dress
It’s crucial to have a few long sleeve numbers in your summer wardrobe since, alas, the weather can be unpredictable. For those days of the summer months when you’re not sunning yourself silly in a barely there outfit, you will need long sleeve pieces to wear.
This striped Dion Lee calf-length dress is perfect for those hazy days of summer when you want to cover up but can’t bear the thought of wearing jeans.
It has long sleeves and a high neckline. I’ve been wearing mine with slides and cool girl shades for the ultimate off duty summer look.

Bottega Veneta Rib Knitted Dress in Parakeet green
For those who don’t yet know about my love of Parakeet green, in a nutshell, I’m obsessed with this colour.
This rib knitted mini dress comes in the hue and features fringe detailing at the hem. This dress opened Bottega Veneta’s Spring 2021 ready-to-wear show paired with clog-like mules in the same colour and material. As an onlooker, I was certainly intrigued. This little number will go perfectly with other statement pieces from the house, like the new Point Bag.

Jacquemus Gardian Mini Dress
This Jacquemus piece starts off looking like a short-sleeved blazer jacket, only to extend into a form-fitting mini dress.
The lapels of the blazer create an elegant V-shaped neckline.
Debuting on the famous Jacquemus Spring 2021 ready-to-wear runway, which was situated amongst a field of wheat, the dress has since proved a fan favourite.
It is made from sustainable hemp material and will pair perfectly with just about any ‘It’ bag with a top handle.
