Us fashion aficionados are no strangers to the power and allure of a luxury fashion house and artist collaboration. Just think of Louis Vuitton’s plethora of covetable partnerships with artists which dominated the early ‘00’s fashion scene. Or the iconic pairing of Alexander McQueen and Damien Hirst. The list goes on.
And now, the latest alliance between the fashion and art worlds which everyone is swooning over is Fendi’s new collaboration with New York artist Sarah Coleman.
Say hello to the new Fendi FF Vertigo collection.
The FF Vertigo offering for summer features Fendi favourites the Peekaboo, Baguette, Bauletto mini and Fendi Sunshine Shopper, as well as ready-to-wear, swimwear and activewear. Vibrant shades of acid yellow, sky blue and bubblegum pink are the undisputed stars of the new FF Vertigo range.
I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on a selection of the yellow hued pieces, including the iconic Peekaboo ISeeU bag, nano Baguette charm, nylon trousers, vintage polaroid camera, Lycra bikini and sheer shirt.
In this post, I’m going to explore my love of Fendi’s latest capsule collection and why the FF Vertigo pieces I’ve acquired are perfect for my impending summer adventures.
This playful new collection from Fendi is all about experimenting with age-old luxury motifs to create something fun and unexpected.
Coleman is well-versed in this and has previously used Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Fendi prints in her artwork. Just last year, the artist designed three new versions of Fendi’ famous Peekaboo bag.
For her latest work with the brand, Coleman has created the new FF Vertigo print, which is a 70’s inspired version of the original motif. The mesmerising pattern is almost psychedelic and features the distorted FF motif in a swirling movement.

In addition to Fendi’s signature brown tone, the collection centres around a series of summer shades.
The vibrant acid yellow is my favourite shade from the collection.
The energetic hue is very close to the classic ‘Fendi yellow’ that has become associated with the house. The mesmerising FF Vertigo print pairs perfectly with this vibrant yellow. Fendi’s Peekaboo ISeeU in this colour is perhaps my favourite piece from the entire collection.
The swirling white FF lettering against the bright acid yellow backdrop looks (I want to say delicious but I’m very aware that it’s a hunk of leather and not a tasty ice cream).
But this new release has made me fall in love with the popular top handle design all over again.
Another piece from the collection I’m loving is the nano Baguette charm. This adorable micro pouch is modeled after the house’s famous Baguette bag. It also appears in the eye-catching FF Vertigo print.
The collection’s clothing and swimwear are equally to die for. I’ve been wearing the new Lycra bikini accompanied with the sheer shirt as a cover-up. I’m also a huge fan of the nylon trousers from the collection which are ideal for a casual summer look to wear with a swimsuit.
This collection is adventurous in its reinterpretation of the famed Fendi FF logo and use of vibrant colours.
This sense of adventure is mirrored in the collection’s offerings.
The new Summer Capsule collection features camping equipment, a tent, polaroid camera and skateboards. I’ve been using the polaroid camera, which features the captivating FF Vertigo print in multicolour, to snap some of my favourite summer memories so far.
Fendi’s new FF Vertigo summer capsule is one of my favourite collections for summer 2021.
I’m obsessed with the pieces I have but I do have my eye on the FF Vertigo blue Baguette bag. I think the vivid sky blue shade is simply sublime and works well with the swirling FF Vertigo pattern.
