Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua

Cave of Amalfi Coast

Imagine the beautiful cliffs of Amalfi, the infinite view on the blue sea and the fresh breeze on a hot day. Imagine observing the sunset from your Amalfi Coast villa, the citrus smell from the near by trees mixed with the smell of sea, wildflowers and the laughter from a restaurant on the hill below you. It is a multi sensory experience. Now that is the emotion I have every time I spray on the new Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi private blend for summer with the Acqua in the title, in the gorgeous blue frosted glass bottle. I love it.

The brand described it as Effervescent, textured, luminous fragrance. A scent that captures the calm idyll of the whitewashed villas dotting the cliffside of Amalfi and I couldn’t agree more. This is my go to summer fragrance, a fresh addition to my every day look and I specially love it as it’s made for both him and her, meaning that you can smell exactly the same as your loved one, and there is something really attractive about this right?

While visiting the Amalfi Coast, and staying few days in Positano, I found the most incredible private beach and thought I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to visually describe a fragrance, through scenery, emotion and colours. I encountered this gorgeous almost cave like place with crazy waves in a safe little bay and it just seemed so appropriate. The fresh smell of sea in the sunshine and the wild trees around created a really unique whiff in the air.

Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua is a stunning mix of heavenly luxury of the Amalfi Coast mixed with the young and fun lifestyle. It’s the summer scent I couldn’t have missed. Now lets get onto the notes and the ingredients that you guys are probably interested in?

“I probably do have an obsessive personality, but striving for perfection has served me well.” – Tom Ford

The Fragrance Composition

Why I love Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua so much?

  • Top notes – Tarragon, spearmint, blackcurrant bud, lemon, mandarin, bergamot, grapefruit, neroli, basil
  • Heart notes – black pepper, orange oil, orange flower, clary sage, jasmine, Shiso leaf
  • Base notes – vetiver, amber, labdanum, musk and civet

What really drew me to this fragrance is the way it transports you to the warmth of summer day even when Im experience the greyness of English summer months. I immediately imagine the fresh minty cocktail with few drops of lemon juice and ice cubes that melt in the sunshine while admiring the sea line. This fresh, earthy but creamy fragrance lasts on your skin for a long time. It might also be a great purchase for your man, as mentioned before this fragrance is unisex and truly loved by many men in my life (its not what you’re thinking haha).

What is your favourite summer fragrance? I am so excited I had an opportunity to bring this visual story to the blog today. Hope you like it.
