IDYLLIC ISLAND
As previously mentioned, Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The island itself is full of variety, so you can have a really nice relaxing break but still different depending on where you stay. On this occasion we stayed in Oia and I am preparing a full on “favourite spots” and “what to do when in Santorini” post, so for all of you who asked – you wish has been granted.
The thing I have to say about Santorini is that I never, not once even thought about using the Google Maps and for some reason that was liberating. Dont get me wrong, I adore this miraculous app that is always taking me from A to B for years now. I owe it so much including the fact that I always made it for a meeting and was never not often late. What I am trying to say is that I genuinely enjoyed in spending time in these little streets, finding the best sunset viewpoint, looking for a cute cafe, good restaurant or just walking seamlessly for fun. Everything appeared to be easy to find, and when it wasnt I kept getting lost and turning into streets – which meant I found even more beautiful places, hidden gems that you only come across if you really get lost.
During this visit we even got stranded once at the bottom of the island (also known as the beach or port) and had to walk all the way up using very steep donkey road to get back. It really wasnt that bad, apart from the fact that maybe this particular road wasnt perfect for my new Hermes shoes, or any open shoes in fact.
Easy Summer Style
Summer clothes is just so much fun. While I was packing for this trip I really didnt have many issues, its was easier when you dont have to think about all the coats and different layers that have to match and work well together. One thing I know, I packed many many maxi dresses. Not only they are easy to style, but also feel good and light on my skin. I picked this one right before the trip and loved it for three reasons:
- Open Back
- Two Aquamarine Shades
- Pleats
Besides being such a cute maxi, it was also really inexpensive so I felt lucky to grab it. I decided to add a bit of freshness to the look with some yellow accents and paired it with my trusty Dolce&Gabbana Sicily bag. This bag looks small but it really is a perfect summer bag size. Fits all I need and even a vlogging camera (for me thats a measure and a threshold for a small bag). You guys know what a loyal fan of D&G I am, I am extremely tempted to leave all of my money there, but really have to try and push myself back before my wardrobe starts looking like the most perfect holiday along the Amalfi Coast (though that doesnt sound that bad, right?).
The new sunnies that some of you might have spotted are the Dior SoReal Pop. They come in various colours, and I love yellow and red the most. SoReal is the model that I bought as soon as it came out 5 years ago (wow the time flies) and I never looked back. Currently I have a few models and really love them so decided to go for the yellow ones too. I think they might be a bit of a Marmite and that not everyone will like them. So I am super curious to hear your opinion? Yay or Ney? What colour would you get?
Hope you are enjoying these few summer posts. How many days until we officially hit the season of sun?
