I wrote about dreams and goals many times before, but I still often get emails from my readers saying, yes I want it but I don’t know how to achieve it, I don’t know why but I still procrastinate and still can’t stay motivated for longer than 2 days. At first I couldn’t understand it, as I find motivation so easily and in everything, but then I realised that goals are actually complex and that there is a secret around tackling them and a strategy how to achieve what you are dreaming about. So without further due, I will let you read my five top tips on how to stay focused and motivated in order to achieve results.
1.Make a plan
So you have a certain goal on your mind. You want to have an A at the end of the year, you want to land a job, or you want to make your blog more successful. Making a plan is the biggest step you can make, and probably the most important one.You need to be very precise in order to be able to make that plan. Goal such as “I want to make my blog more successful” isn’t measurable just said like that, so you need to write a plan and turn it into numbers. What does that mean? Don’t be vague, write down how many visits you want to get, how much money you want to make and start working towards that. That way you will have a visual plan and will be more focused on what you want to achieve. If you want to get a job, list all the characteristics, field in which you want to work, try and work your way up, or write down the path you want to take in order to get to that position.
2.Tell your friends
This one might seem slightly weird, but actually sharing your dreams with people around you will make you more focused. Once you say it out loud its like you have committed to it. Next time you see your friend they might ask you how is it going, and that will remind you that you need to work on what you want to achieve. Its been proven that people who want to lose weight usually do so after they share their goal with friends and family, that makes them more committed and more dedicated to what they “promised” to do.
3.Have a deadline
I once listened to John Assaraf say that deadlines are essential to your goals. You need to give yourself an absolute deadline until you have to do a certain thing, and that will guide you on the way to your goal. If the deadline is far from now, then cut the time in quarters, and chop your goal into smaller tasks which will make it easier to achieve. Every December i write a list of goals for the next year, I then give myself a deadline which is December next year and make sure I delivered one quarter of the goals every three months. Its as easy as that.
4.Re-Evaluate
Half way through its important to check your progress. You wanted that A in maths, or an average of 80%. You started at mark of 60% and now after one months you are at 67%. How long is it gonna take you to get to your goal, do you have enough time, are you doing well, or not at all. If you aren’t doing well, its time to change the strategy, find a different way and implement some other activities in order to get to your goal. Nothing is impossible.
5.Keep a Diary
This will help you reflect on what works, what doesn’t work, when are you more productive, when less. Keeping a diary is a great idea, because it also keeps reminding you that you have a goal. If you are losing weight, writing dissertation, growing a blog or developing a business writing what you did to contribute to your goal that day will keep you more motivated than ever. Write down all the things you did, all the things you want to do, and that will keep you focused and make you sayer goal more clear than ever.

Vec sam pisala o ciljevima i snovima nekoliko puta, ali i dalje najcesce dobijam mejlove od citatelja koji pisu da nemaju motivacije, da ih mrzi da rade na snovima i da jednostavno mogu da budu motivisani maksimum 2 dana. U pocetku ovo nisam mogla razumeti, jer ja lako pronalazim motivaciju i mogu je naci u svemu, ali sam onda shvatila da su snovi jako komplikovani i da postoje tajne strategije kako im prici, kako odrzati motivaciju i kako postici ono o cemu sanjate. Bez odugovlacenja, reci cu vam mojih 5 saveta kako da ostanete motivisani i postignete rezultate.
1.Napravite plan
Imate odredjeni cilj na umu. Zelite tu peticu na kraju godine, zelite novi posao, zelite da vas blog bude uspesniji. Za sve ovo vam je potreban plan. Planiranje je najveci deo posla a verovatno i najbitniji. Morate biti prilicno precizni kako biste napravili plan. Ciljevi kao sto su “Zelim da mi blog bude uspesniji” nisu merljivi, tako da sve to morate pretvoriti u brojeve i biti precizniji u svom cilju. Sta to znaci? Nemojte sami sebi biti nejasni, zapisite koliko poseta mesecno zelite, koliko pratioca ili mozda koliko novaca zelite da zaradite. Napravite plan i radite ka tome. Na ovaj nacin vizuelno cete zapamtiti ka cemu radite i to ce vas motivisati. Ako zelite taj posao, napisite put kojim zelite da idete kako biste dosli do te pozicije.
2.Recite prijateljima
Ovaj savet mozda zvuci neobicno, ali je zaista bitan. Ukoliko podelite svoje snove sa prijateljima ili porodicom sigurno cete jos jace raditi na njima. Kada naglas izgovorite nesto pred drugim ljudima, to je kao da ste se obavezali ili sami sebi nesto obecali. Sledeci put kada vidite ove prijatelje mozda ce vas pitati kako napredujete u ostvarenju cilja i to ce vas jos vise pogurati. Dokazano je da ljudi koji zele da smrsaju to uspesnije urade nakon sto svoje zelje podele sa prijateljima. Ovo ih dodatno motivise da ostvare ono sto su na neki nacin sebi obecali.
3.Postavite rok
Jednom sam slusala John Assaraf-a koji je rekao da je rok trajanja neophodan svakom cilju. Morate sebi zadati datum do koga cete ispuniti taj cilj i ozbiljno ga shvatiti. Svakog decembra zapisem listu ciljeva koje zelim da ispunim do kraja sledece godine, onda ih podelim u cetri dela i dam sebi rok da svaka tri meseca zavrsim bar jednu cetvrtinu ovih ciljeva. Veoma jednostavno a ucinkovito.
4.Napravite procenu
Na pola puta do roka bitno je proceniti kako napredujete. Zelite 5 iz matematike, trenutni prosek vam je 3.5 a poceli ste sa prosekom 3 znaci da ste napredovali, da li je ovaj napredak dovoljan i da li cete stici da do odredjenog datuma ispunite svoj cilj? Ukoliko ne napredujete ovo je pravi trenutak da promenite strategiju i da nadjete drugi nacin kako cete stici na vreme do svog gola. Nista nije nemoguce.
5.Vodite dnevnik
Ovo ce vam pomoci da vidite sta radi a sta ne radi, kada ste produktivniji a kada vam nista ne ide od ruke. Dnevnik je odlicna ideja, jer vas kontantno podseca ka cemu radite. Ako mrsavite, pisete magistarski rad, radite na blogu ili razvijate biznis, dnevnik ce vam svakako pomoci da ostanete motivisani. Svaki dan zapisite sta ste tog dana uradili kako biste bili blize cilju, napisite sta planirate da uradite i koliko vam je ostalo da dodjete do svoje ciljne tacke. Tako nikada necete izgubiti fokus.
