Beach Yoga at Conrad Maldives

I had a huge pleasure to receive a yoga class while staying in Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. You guys know I have been practicing yoga regularly for around 2-3 months now, on pretty much daily basis, and to be honest with you Manesh from Conrad has been so far the best teacher I ever had. I really liked his optimistic approach, and the way he helped me do certain exercises I wanted to do for a while. Since I received a lot of yoga questions lately, I wanted to answer to your questions, and show you some of the photos from our class in Maldives. Velika sam srecnica sto sam mogla da pohadjam casove joge za vreme mog boravka u Conrad Maldives Rangali Island hotelu. Vi znate da vec neko vreme praktikujem jogu i redovno sam joj se posvetila pre neka 3 meseca. Da budem iskrena instruktor Manesh u Conrad hotelu je bio jedan od najboljih instruktora do sada. Jako mi je prijao njegov optimistican pristup, pomogao mi je da savladam neke vezbe, da pronadjem ravnotezu. Posto sam dobila mnogo pitanja u vezi joge, zelela sam da odgovorim na neka od njih i da vam pokazem neke od slika sa jednog casa na Maldivima. 1.How long have you been doing yoga for?
I started doing you only two or three months ago. I always loved it, as I am pretty flexible and it helps me get rid of the tension. Even though I started only not so lon ago, I feel like I progressed fast because I do it on daily basis.

1.Koliko dugo se bavis jogom?
Pocela sam pre dva ili tri meseca. Oduvek mi se dopadala joga, jer sam prilicno fleksibilna, a i pomaze mi da se oslobodim tenzije u misicima. Iako sam pocela nedavno, napredovala sam brzo jer je svakodnevno vezbam.

2.Can you do yoga even if you don’t attend lessons?
I am the example that you can. I started with watching youtube videos, I knew some yoga basics, but wanted to do something at home, in between working hours, or when I feel like it, without having to go to the gym, or waste time in transport. There are many online lessons that you can commit to, and it takes only 30-60min of your day.

2.Da li se mozemo baviti jogom i ako ne posecujemo casove?
Ja sam primer da je to moguce. Pocela sam tako sto sam gledala casove na youtube-u, znala sam neke osnove joge, ali sam zelela da radim nesto kod kuce, nesto sto ne zahteva mnogo vremena i prostora, pogotvo jer ne volim da “gubim” vreme u transportu i to je ono sto mi je najneprivlacnije. Ima mnogo casova na internetu koji zahtevaju samo 30-60 minuta dnevno i zato mi je jako lako da ih radim svaki dan.

3.Have you noticed any benefits since you started?
Definitely. I noticed that my body muscles are leaner, not bulkier, but just more defined in a different way. I always had very strong leg, stomach and gluteus muscles, but very very weak back. This helps my posture, as I am aware that my posture was never good. I am now working on it, and hoping to strengthen shoulders and back. Besides physical, I noticed that I am much calmer as a person and a lot less anxious, stressed as yoga gives me inner peace.

3.Da li si primetila ikakve promene od kako si pocela da se bavis jogom?
Itekako. Primetila sam da su mi misici u telu zategnutiji, ne veci ili napumpaniji, nego definisaniji na drugaciji nacin. Oduvek sam imala jake misice nogu, stomaka i zadnjice ali veoma veoma slaba ledja. Joga mi pomaze da stojim ispravljeno iako to jos nisam u potpunosti savladala. Radim na ledjima i nadam se da ce mi joga pomoci da ojacam ledja i ramena. Osim fizickog napretka primetila sam da sam mentalno jaca, manje nervozna, manje pod stresom i da mi joga daje neki unutrasnji mir.

4.What kind of yoga are you doing?
I started with Hatha Yoga, as I think its best way to get introduced to exercises. Its gentle, focuses on breathing, holding the pose and quieting the mind. I personally love it.

4.Kojim tipom joge se bavis?
Pocela sam sa Hatha Jogom, mislim da je ovo najbolja joga za pocetnike. Blaga je fokusira se na disanje, na drzanje poze, ravnotezu i smirivanje uma. Ja je obozavam.

5.Could you do a yoga video?
I am not sure I am on that level to actually show you exercises or teach anyone how to do it, but if you have more yoga related questions, ask me and I will make sure to reply to you in the video.

5.Da li bi mogla snimiti joga video?
Nisam sigurna da sam na tom nivou da nekog ucim kako da se bavi jogom, ali ako imate neka pitanja, rado cu ih odgovoriti u videu. Sva pitanja ostavite u komentarima.

6.Why do you like it so much?
I like the effects it has on me, the calming, revitalising and strengthening effects. It gives me strength, and I am not only talking about physical strength. I love the quietness of my mind while doing yoga, as that is a pure luxury for a business leader and a creative person like myself.

6.Zasto ti se joga toliko dopada?
Svidjaju mi se efekti koje ima na moje telo, na moj um. Smiruje me, ozivljava i ojacava. Daje mi snagu, ali ne samo fizicku. Zaljubljena sam u mir i tisinu mog uma dok je praktikujem, a to je pravi luksuz kada vodite biznis i imate kreativan um.
